WelcomeOn behalf of the people of the Cathedral of St. John, and

the Bishop and people of the Diocese of the Rio Grande, wewelcome you to this, our 22nd season of concerts and specialchoral worship services at the Cathedral of St. John.

The Friends of Cathedral Music series has long been a vitalpart of the Cathedral’s outreach to the greater community. Itis an offering to the people of our city and beyond.

The Cathedral serves Albuquerque by opening its doorsand inviting others to share in these musical gifts. Peoplefrom all walks of life come from far and wide to experiencethe splendor of our musical events. Your presence among usenriches our lives.

We anticipate great moments for concert-goers with the22nd musical season at the Cathedral of St. John. We’vecombined a memorable repertoire of classical music withexceptionally talented artists from across the globe. The2015–2016 season includes concerts, special liturgical eventsand, throughout the season of Lent, musical meditations eachFriday evening alongside a unique opportunity to support ourCathedral’s Food Pantry.

We invite you to join us: to take part, to share, to betouched by the Spirit that moves through music, to benourished by that same Spirit, and be deepened in yourrelationship with each other and God through great musicand talented musicians.

Concert organist and composer Aaron David Miller iscurrently Music Director at Lutheran Church of the GoodShepherd in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Miller has beencommissioned to compose works for numerous organdedications and orchestra festivals, in addition to hissubstantial output of choral compositions.

The world premiere of Dr. Miller’s Magnificat and NuncDimittis will take place at the 3:00pm service of ChoralEvensong.

Our Cathedral Choirs are recognized as amongst thefinest ensembles of their type in the Southwest. Theirinternationally distributed recordings have receivedglowing reviews here and across the pond, and theirnational and international tours have taken them toworld-famous cathedrals in the UK and the US.
