You must be excited, but there is bound to be days when you want to say, “I am bored!”Rather than play video games, watch TV or spend your hard-earned allowance money, try any of these cheap or free activities. With this list, there will always be something fun to do this summer. • Visit your local public library. Public libraries often offer free summer reading programs that include workshops, movies, puppet shows and more! Or check out some books so you can learn something new this summer! • Take a bubble bath outside. If you are tired of just filling your inflatable pool with plain water, ask mom or dad for permission to put in some bubbles. Toss some small toys in and dive right under the bubbles to find them. • Go Bowling. The Kids Bowl Free program, http://kidsbowlfree.com, allows you to play two free games a day at participating bowling centers. • Collect Bugs. Go outside at night with jars to catch and release lightning bus, or search for creepy crawlies during the day. • Make a cardboard box house. Decorate it with paint or markers! • Visit the fire station. Many fire stations welcome visitors! Some may even let you sit in a fire truck. To start, there are 13 stars above the eagle, 13 steps on the pyramid, 13 vertical bars on the shield, 13 horizontal stripes on the top of the shield, 13 leaves and 13 berries on the olive branch in one of the eagle’s talons, 13 arrows in the eagle’s other talons, 13 letters in“ANNUIT COEPTIS”and 13 letters in “E PLURIBUS UNUM.” Many people claim to find sets of 13 in other items on both the front and back of the bill.
