An electromagnetic field (or EMF) is generated from any electrical source, eg fridges, lights, phone chargers, clock radios, electricity meters...
The field itself is electromagnetic radiation (EMR). It radiates from the source, which is why we call it that.

So... FridgesThe EMF of a fridge is less at the front of the fridge, but higher at the back (where the cooling motor is). This is important, because it will radiate through the wall.

Fridge PlacementSo if your fridge backs onto your bedroom, or your child’s bedroom, your sleep may not be as good as you’d like.

Where is the field?A fridge is an insulated box with a cooling motor at the back, so the EMF is more focussed at the back of the fridge, rather than the front.

Where is the field?In this instance, little Johnny is getting a double dose – from the fridge all the time, and from the stove / oven when it’s in use.Not good.

Fridge PlacementIf you can’t move the fridge, move little Johnny’s bed to the opposite wall. That way he’s not sleeping in that EMF.
