At 0:00 to 0:08 there is a age preview warning. There is New line cinema and Paramount logo. The two company logos have both red and black around it this could signify that the colour red means blood and black means darkness and evil.

From 0:09 to 0:13 there is non- diagetic sound of a bird tweeting could connote that there is an intruder.

Also at 0:09 to 0:13 there is a establishing shot of a lake. The lake is very peaceful and but it could be a metaphor that darkness is descending and unusual events will happen.

From 0:22 to 0:24 and there is a voice over of a woman telling history about her son drowning in the lake.

At 0:21 to 0:22 there are two images shown by a long shot and its showing the cabin (a horror paradigm) in two different angles this could be to show the audience that the cabin is completely isolated which suggest that there maybe a killer in their.

At 0:15 there is a fade to black transition. It cuts away from the lake, which implies now the dramatic events start to happen.

At 0:19 there is a point of view shot of a disintegrated shot of a mysterious looking light and the background is completely black which implies that there could be something there and the audience cant see it.

At 0:18 to 0:21 there is a non- diagetic sound which is low and continuous for three seconds which could represent the wind surrounding the cabin as the next scene is the cabin.

At 0:28 to 0:52 there is a voice echoed from the past it gives context that a boy drowned there.

At 0:27 there is a creaky door, which is a horror paradigm.

At 0:28 there is a flash of white light which is later revealed in the next scene it is a torch which could connote that there is someone missing. At 0:59 there is the same flash of light but then a second after the audience see a glimpse of the killer which is very unexpected.

At 0:29 there is diagetic sound of someone scared, running, this makes it out to be a chase scene. All horror trailers have a chase scene.

At 0:34 there is a doll on the ground. A doll represents childhood and wanting to young again, this could relate to the killer as he targets children.

At 0:39 there is an intertitle of the director ‘Michael Bay’, he is a very well known horror film director.

From 0:40 there is a collage of the film. Each last for a second it gives confusing feeling to the audience but it still makes you want to go and se the film.

At 1:30 there is a chant, which is un-expected as it is not a horror paradigm.
