We do not have many days left to play golf. When the weather allows, please come out and enjoy a fall round of golf. The course is in great shape. Also, remember to call the pro shop and sign up for winter simulator league. Simulator league will fill quickly, so please contact the pro shop you’re your team. This is a great time to break up your week and play an indoor round of golf.
We have had a busy September with benefit scrambles, weddings, and corporate dining functions. Kristi-na is putting together some great ideas for fall and winter events at the club. Please pay attention to Facebook, twitter, Instagram, and our website for information about these events. We will keep you posted when we will begin Wednesday night poker. The Wednesday poker night is limited to members only and a maximum of ten players. It really is a fun time to play some cards and have a great night of fun.
Our new menu will finally begin October 1st, and the food offerings are delicious. Please make a point to come enjoy the club this fall and winter and enjoy the great food the GMCC staff has to offer. We will be making concerted efforts to keep all members informed of our dining specials and social events. We ask that you please call and make reservation so that we can staff appropriately to provide you with the ser-vice you deserve. We have been making quite a few changes in the food and beverage department and fell that we have put together a great team to provide great food and service for your dining experience. If you have any questions or concerns with dining at Green Meadow Country Club, please contact me or Jeff Hiel at [email protected].
Winter tv sporting events are here. Come out to the club and enjoy a great setting to view your favorite team or an exciting game. Green Meadow is a great place to watch sporting events and visit socially with your friends and family.
We are still running our fall membership special. If you know of any interested individuals or families looking to join Green Meadow Country Club, please have them contact the management team at our club. Join now and enjoy the benefits of golf and other offerings of the club for the rest of the year and start paying dues January 1st, 2020.

Golf Shop Divot
Greetings from the Golf Shop at Green Meadow Country Club. It looks like we have some inclement weather approaching for just a couple days, but it seems to get better by the middle of next week. Due to the forecasted snow we have moved the GMCC Grind tournament to Sunday, October 6th. The start time will be 10:00 a.m. and we still have openings. If you would like to sign up, please call or email the pro shop at 442-5750 ext. 3 or [email protected]. September was a busy month with events. We hosted a couple corporate events along with the Frontier
Conference Tournament. We always strive to limit the number of outside events so that our course is
available to the membership. The few events that we have continued to contract with have been select-
ed by time of season as well as profitability. It is my hope to continue these events in our later months of
the season to limit the impact on our membership and course availability.
As we get closer to our course closure it is time to think about simulator league. We have started taking
registrations and we are up to 24 teams. We will be limiting the winter league to 40 teams. If this is
something you are interested in, please call the pro shop to schedule your time. The league will begin
Monday, November 11th. The hours of operation for the simulator, beginning November 4th, will be Mon-
day-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is a 2-person best ball
league. Handicaps are generated the first couple weeks of league and will update weekly. Each team
will play one 9-hole match each week. The league will run through the month of February.
The deadline to spend pro shop merchandise credit is December 15th. We are continuing our shoe sale in
the pro shop. All shoes are currently 25% off their lowest marked price. This sale is valid on all in-stock
shoes. We also have some great golf club deals going now as well. Callaway and Mizuno wedges have
been considerably marked down. There are also some great buys on golf balls. If there is something you
are looking for and we don’t have it in-stock, please don’t hesitate to ask us to order it.
After the weekend snow moves through, the weather looks to bounce back. The course is in excellent
shape and we hope to see you all soon. Don’t forget to sign up for the GMCC Grind tournament on Sun-
day, October 6th. As always, if there is anything the golf shop staff can do to make your GMCC experi-
ence more enjoyable, please don’t hesitate to ask.

2019 October
It’s hard to believe how each year can be so different from another around here. Last year we had sever-
al hard frosty mornings by this time. This year we haven’t had any. Frosts starting in early September are
good as it helps the turf on the golf course prepare itself for the winter. Last year we were already heavi-
ly dealing with leaves. This year they are barely starting to change colors yet. While I write this there is
a warning of a very significant winter storm coming over the next couple of days. I hope it isn’t too se-
vere as drastic changes can cause injury. This event will kick things into fall/winter gear. We have much
to do in October to finish putting this place to bed for the winter. The highlights: fall fertilizers need to
get out, irrigation blowout, fungicide applications, finish aerating fairways, and leaf clean up. These will
be mixed in while continuing to groom the course until unfortunately we have to close it up for the win-
ter. Not really looking forward to that. I hope winter can hold off for a while.
It is also time for electric cart owners to think about winter maintenance on their batteries. Proper bat-
tery maintenance will help batteries last and perform longer, however there are no guarantees. It is rec-
ommended to get rid of any corrosion build up before storage, batteries should be fully charged,
checked on once a month for proper water levels, adjusting as needed, and then start the charger mak-
ing sure it is coming on. If you would like to do this on your own we will make arrangements for you to
get into the cart barn this winter.
We will also offer this winter battery service through our maintenance department for those that want it
done but do not wish to do it themselves. This work will be performed the 15th of each month Nov-Mar.
The base winter service will cost $70 and will be billed out in January/February 2020. It will include us
bringing your cart to our shop. We will assess corrosion, charge percentage, and fluid levels. If your cart
has dead batteries, much corrosion, and or no fluid it will cost more as takes more to prepare your cart
for winter. After this assessment we will call you with results. If you do not here from us you were not
on the list. Again, this battery care does not guarantee battery life or performance. GMCC will not be
liable for private cart batteries. Please do not assume you are on the list because you were on it in a pre-
vious year. Make sure you call our maintenance shop with the following information: make of your cart,
stall number, and phone number where you can be reached. The deadline for signing up is October 31,
2019. After that we will not be accepting anymore carts for this service, because once we put the rental
fleet and other equipment into the cart barn we can’t get your cart over to our shop to clean corrosion
and get a diagnosis for your batteries. The earlier we know the better it is for your cart also. If you have
any questions about winterizing your cart yourself please feel free to call Austin/mechanic at the shop.
Gas cart owners, it wouldn’t hurt to slip a little bit of fuel additive/stabilizer into your gas tanks, run your
cart a little bit, and then put it away for the winter.
Thanks,
Derek Hofer

From the Food & Beverage Department Greetings,
The new additions to our menus are out, so if you have not had a chance to try something from
them, we hope you will stop by. The revisions to the menu were created based on member re-
quests, plus we feel it provides a nice variety to select from as well.
The Brews N Q’s event that took place September 28th
by Kettlehouse Brewing Company went
very well and everyone had a wonderful time. Mike Ashworth, the Brewmaster shared his pas-
sion, colorful elaboration and brew history for the special selections. Chef Tom shared a dish de-
scription for each of the pairings and why he created it as it regards texture, flavor and tempera-
ture. Everyone was pleasantly surprised by the flavor sensations they experienced for the evening.
We hope to continue with this event going forward and hope that those of you who attended en-
joyed it.
The wine menu is in revision and we look forward to offering a more complimentary selection. If
you have some wine preferences you would like to see us acquire, please let me know. The prop-
er pairing of wine with a meal is important to providing a rich and fulfilling dinning experience.
The staff here at Green Meadow Country Club are dedicated to providing an exceptional experi-
ence.
Don’t forget about the Club Happy Hour and look for Tapats to be added in the future.
It has been a whirlwind two months since I have arrived, and it has been great meeting so many
wonderful people. I look forward to meeting each one of you.
Thank you,
Jeff Hiel

It’s the height of Prohibition in 1920s Chi-cago, and there’s a mob war brewing be-tween the South Side Gangsters and the Northern Chicago Mob Outfit. The two ruthless crime leaders Hal Sapone and Beanie O’Dannon have finally reached an agreement on bootlegging practices in Chicago and have decided to pull togeth-er resources to undergo a collabora-tive effort with criminal endeavors.
On the surface, this strategy seems simi-lar to bailing out a sinking ship with tin cups, nevertheless.
Recently, gangsters from the north and south have been spotted together at various speakeasies throughout Chicago, but the tension in the air is always thick enough to be cut with a knife. However, this newfound relationship between the opposing mob bosses has served, thus far, to inhibit gratuitous bloodshed as in the past. Part of the success of this truce is that both crime bosses have found new dames, thereby intertwining more mutual relationships between the two factions.
The two gangs have set an official date to meet at Hal Sapone’s Grand Gatsby Speakeasy to resolve all remaining differ-ences. Will these two underground or-ganizations resolve their disputes or will a massive melee erupt, rekindling the fa-tal flames between them?
This is where your story begins……..

Her debut jazz CD, 2008’s “They Oughta Write a Song,” won Best Vocal Jazz Album of the year in the JPF awards (then the world’s largest independent music awards). She was signed in 2010 by JVC/Kenwood Entertainment (Japan/Asia) and in 2011 by Justin Time Records. Halie has since released nine additional albums including two Japan-only releases, and gone on to win many awards as both a singer and a song-writer. Loren’s original song “Thirsty” won the Independent Music Awards’ best jazz song of the year in 2011. Her 2012 release, “Heart First,” was honored by Japan’s Jazz Critique Magazine as the best vocal jazz album of year, and reached No. 1 on the iTunes Canada jazz albums chart. In 2013, “Simply Love” de-buted at No. 1 on Billboard Jazz / Japan and entered iTunes Canada as #1 jazz album. Her 2014 best-of compilation release “The Best Collection”, 2015’s “Butterfly Blue”, and 2016’s “Live at Cotton Club” also hit #1 on Billboard Japan’s jazz chart.
Along with recording success, Loren’s live performances have expanded to include performances with the Jazz Orchestra of Sicily, the Corvallis-OSU Symphony Orchestra in Oregon, the Monroe Symphony in Louisiana and the prestigious International Britt Fest Orchestra. For the past seven years she has trav-eled east to west in the U.S. and other parts of the world, including Canada, Japan, Italy, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Haiti, and Egypt. The last few months of her tours have included sold-out tour dates in Japan, Korea (including a Korean festival performance with an audience of over 25,000), Quebec, Flor-ida, and Georgia. Last year found her in London and New York working on a new album of her original material “From the Wild Sky” with UK producer Troy Miller, a project for which she raised over $68,000 of funding from her worldwide fans via crowdsourcing site Kickstarter. “From the Wild Sky” was re-leased worldwide in April 2018, and since then, Loren has been touring in support of it with tour dates across North America, Asia, and Europe, with more on the horizon.
