Tennessee Valley Historical Society presents “Historic Florence Trolley Tours”. Air-conditioned trolley with cushioned seats. Tours depart from the Florence/Lauderdale Tourism Office & Visitor Center in McFarland Park on both days.
Friday, July 24 - 11:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m.Tennessee Valley Historical Society presents “Up From Slavery Historic Florence Trolley Tours”, conducted by Lee Freeman who will share his knowledge of the history of the African American community in Florence. These tours will include churches, schools, businesses and prominent individuals.
Saturday, July 25 - 11:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m.Tennessee Valley Historical Society presents "Signs of the Past Historic Florence Trolley Tours” conducted by Dr. David Curott, and featuring a variety of historical locations in Florence. This tour will include sites discussed in his book "Signs of the Past; a Pictorial History of Lauderdale and Colbert County, Alabama."
Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and free for children small enough to sit in their parents laps. To reserve a seat, call Florence/Lauderdale Tourism at 256-740-4141. All proceeds go to provide scholarships to local high school students.
