For each resident who participates, The Kenwood will donate one book to “Books For Africa,” an organization The Kenwood has been supporting for years that distributes books to children of all ages in Africa. If you don’t want to compete, we still encourage you to attend and cheer on your neighbors. This lighthearted competition will surely be a great way to spend the afternoon! Friday, May 15th at 1:30 Birthday Party featuring the Somewhat Dixieland Band The Somewhat Dixieland Band plays standard New Orleans jazz tunes along with ragtime and others adapted to the Dixie style, hence the name “Somewhat"Dixie. Everyone is invited in this celebration of May birthdays. Wednesday, May 27th at 7:00 Clothing Drive with Phil Mattson and Kristin Sponcia Clean out those closets and donate your old clothes! After you drop off your items stick around for terrific live music by our very own, Phil Mattson accompanied by amazing vocalist, Kristin Sponcia. Thursday, May 28th at 2:45 MacPhail Music for Life Intergenerational Group Macphail Music for Life is going to have a special twist this month…we’re inviting kids to join us! This fun, interactive program is sure to be a hit. All residents are invited to sit alongside the delightful students from Grace Homeschool Academy to learn, explore, and create music. This is just another great example of the quality programming that we are fortunate to receive from MacPhail. Friday, May 29th at 7:00 Social Hour with Cathy Victorsen Harpist Catherine Salovich Victorsen holds two degrees in Harp Performance, BM from Boston University and MM (Master of Music) from the University of Minnesota. Catherine was the Solo Principal Harpist for the Regensburg Philharmonic Orchestra in Regensburg, Germany from 1984-1991. Please join us as she dazzles us with her talent.
