SPORTS The McCook Bison basketball teams split their first two games yesterday at the Goodland Topside Tournament. The Lady Bison fell to Wray in the opener, 62-45. The 1-2 MHS girls will face Wallace County in the consolation semifinals today at 3 p.m. Pregame coverage on KICX starts at 2:45. The Bison boys im-

proved to 2-0 with a 76-47 win over Wray. McCook will face Colby in the championship semifinals. Tip-off will be at around 5 p.m. The Cattle Trail Basketball Tournament continues today with the championship and consolation semifinals. All four championship semifinals will be at the Graff Events Center and

broadcast live on 103.9 The Hawk, with coverage starting at 3:10. The fifth-seeded Nebraska volleyball team squares off against

Colorado at 1:00p.m. on Friday in the Lexington Regional at Kentucky’s Memorial Coliseum. The first of two regional semifi-nal round matches will feature fourth ranked Kentucky against 13th ranked BYU at 11:00a.m. The winners of Friday’s matches will meet in Saturday’s regional final at 3:00p.m. The Big Ten

champion Huskers are making their 23rd regional appearance in the last 24 years and are aiming for a third straight final four appearance, which would be a first in program history. Nebraska is no stranger to Lexington, as the Huskers won an NCAA Regional there in 2015 to advance to the final four,

where the Huskers ultimately won the national title in Omaha. In that regional – which Kentucky was not part of – NU swept BYU in the regional semifinal and beat Washington 3-1 in the final.
