1pm: The Headless Horseman Horse Shoe Tournament 2pm: Adult Craft Class 5pm: Marion’s Magical Pumpkin Patch - Front Office Lawn Meet us in the front lawn of the registration office to plant your magical pumpkin seeds. After you mark your pumpkin spot with your official Pumpkin name marker, you will return at 9am Saturday morning to see if your pumpkin has grown into a perfect magical Pumpkin. Ages 10 & Under. 7pm: Drive-in Movie - At the outdoor pool parking lot Drive up your golf cart or bring a lawn chair and enjoy a Halloween movie under the stars. October 2 – Halloween Town October 9 – Hotel Transylvania October 16 – The Addams Family October 23 – No Movie October 30- Hocus Pocus 8:30pm: Tales from the Island - On Lake Perry Come enjoy ghost stories while sitting by the fire. Our resident story teller will entertain you and send chills down your spine with stories of the South Carolina Coast. After the story, stay around and enjoy making S’mores or roast a marshmallow. All ages welcome. 10pm: Yard Decorating Contest Judging Decorate your campsite, annual lease site, or vacation rental with your most fantastic, outrageous and creative Halloween Décor. Prizes will be awarded for the top three Permanent sites and top three campsites and top three annual lease sites and vacation rentals. Judging will take place at 10pm Friday night. Winners will be announced at the Costume Contest on Saturday night at 7pm. Make sure you register your site no later than 6pm in the Information Center. There will also be a category for Children under 8. (Pumpkins may be moved into a higher classification at the Judge’s Discretion.) All pumpkins will remain on display until 8:30pm Saturday night. Any pumpkin not picked up by 9pm Saturday night will be discarded. 3pm: Pet Costume Contest Show off your pet in their best Halloween Costume. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place prizes will be awarded. Sign up in the Information Center before 1pm. The Contest starts at 3pm at the Information Center. (All pets must be on a leash. Only one entry per pet, per week. New costumes required for re-entry). 4pm - 6pm: Trick or Treating This childhood tradition continues at Lakewood every weekend through the month of October. To hand out treats to the kids, YOU MUST sign up in the Information Center no later than 3pm Saturday. You will be given a yard sign to display. Once you are out of candy, simply remove the sign. If you are a trick or treater, come by the information center at 4pm to get a list of participating sites. 6:30pm: Golf Cart Parade - Along the Ocean Front Decorate your golf cart and be a part of this fun nighttime event. Register your golf cart in the information center no later than 4pm on Saturday. All carts will meet at the swash on the North end of the campground. The parade will start promptly at 6pm and will travel south to the Information Center. Lights are highly encouraged. All Drivers must be 16 years old and may NOT wear a full-face mask. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded as well as Best Overall. Awards will be handed out at the Costume Contest Saturday night at 7pm. 7pm: Costume Contest - In the Amphitheater It’s that time again for Lakewood’s Most outrageous event. The Costume contest will be held on Saturday night at 7pm in the Amphitheater. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded in the following age divisions/categories; Ages 4 & Under, Ages 5-10, Ages 11-15, Ages 16 & Up, Family/Group All costumes must be family friendly. Any costume deemed inappropriate will not be allowed in the contest. Only one entry per person, per week. New costumes required for re-entry. 8pm: Cup Cake Walk - In the Amphitheater Join us after the costume contest for our annual Cup Cake Walk. This fun family event has always been a Lakewood favorite. Who doesn’t want to win a cupcake? 8:30pm - 9:30pm: “Scare by the Shore Beach Boogie” - Sand-n-Surf Stage End your Hall-O-Wood weekend with this fun beachside dance party. There is plenty of room for social Distancing while you get down to your favorite Halloween dance tunes. The Fun will wrap up at 9:30pm. *All events subject to change.
