Fence 1– PELOURINHO - SALVADOR, BAHIA

Also located on Salvador, Bahia, Pelourinho is a neighborhood part of the Historical Centre of the city. The Colonial architectural complex is very well preserved and part of the United Nations Cultural Heritage, and dates from the XVII century.

Fence 2 – ASA DELTA

At the Gavea beach, the Asa Delta (Hand glider) is part of the Rio de Janeiro sky. The Pedra da Gavea is a take-off point sought after by many adepts from the entire world, due to the amazing natural view form the ocean and the mountains.

Fence 3 – PEDRA DA GAVEA

The RIO 2016 Look of the Games department created very interesting ways to show the Rio de Janeiro natural beauties, represent here by the Pedra da Gavea, another post card of Rio de Janeiro.

Fence 4 A – FAROL DA BARRA-SALVADOR BAHIA

Located at the Santo Antonio point, in Salvador, the capital of the state of Bahia, this famous lighthouse dates from the XVII century – being the first of its kind in the continent. Rebuilt and upgraded in 1832, the Salvador port was back then one of the most important of the Americas. Now it is one of the main postcards of the city.

Fence 4 B – BASIC WHITE

A free design, design in a traditional showjumping way, but with a special shape and movement on it. There is no specific theme, and it was designed so that the horses can have a break of so many different and special jumps.

Fence 5 – PONTE RIO NITEROI

Connecting Rio de Janeiro and Niteroi and, with this, avoiding a 100 km road trip or a Ferry Trip, the Ponte Presidente Costa e Silva, commonly known as Ponte Rio-Niteroi, was inaugurated in 1974 as the second longest bridge in the world. Nowadays, it is the 11th longest bridge in the world and the longest pre-stressed concrete bridge on the southern hemisphere.

Fence 6 – JARDIM BOTANICO RIO DE JANEIRO

The Jardim Botanico was originated around 1808, when the Portuguese Court was transferred to Brazil. From 1890 on, it has its current name. It is one of the most important parks of Rio, a Research Centre. The Jardim Botanico do Rio de Janeiro is represented here by its Portal and one of its Fountain.

Fence 7A – BARRAQUINHA DE FESTA JUNINA

One of the most traditional regional parties in Brazilian Culture, the Festa Junina occurred during several days of the month of June, always celebrating the local saints, and is represented here by one of the traditional Barraquinhas, the stands where food, drinks and also many types of games are played.

One of the most traditional regional parties in Brazilian Culture, the Festa Junina occurred during several days of the month of June, always celebrating the local saints. These parties are always very well decorated with the “bandeirinhas“.

Fence 8 – MASCOTE ESPORTIVO

On this jump Vinicius, the RIO 2016 Olympic Mascot, gets on a horse to salute our athletes.

Fence 9 – GARRAFINHAS DE AREIA

Traditional handicraft from the northeast of Brazil, originally from the state of Rio Grande do Norte, where the used glass bottles are filled with sand of different colours, creating beautiful delicate images.

Fence 10 – BONDINHO DE SANTA TEREZA Founded in 1749, the Companhia Ferro-Carril de Santa Tereza, also know as Bondinho de Santa Tereza was back then one of the main transport options in Rio de Janeiro, and operated many routes in the city . From 1968 on, only the Santa Tereza line is operating, still providing transportation, but mostly now is part of the touristic agenda in Rio. It goes over de Arcos da Lapa, another post card from the Cidade Maravilhosa.

Fence 11 – GRAFITTI

The once marginalized art of graffiti nowadays had acquired a new status and is now present in many walls and areas of Rio. The Rio de Janeiro artist, Marcus Villela, made this jump specially for the RIO 2016, with his inspiration based on the fact that Rio is art = “RIO É ARTE“.
