Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR)SOAR is mandatory for all incoming freshmen (even those with AP or CE credits). Go to www.usu.edu/soar to sign up for a SOAR session. You can choose from several options. Attendance is capped at each SOAR session to provide personalized service and attention. If you have special circumstances requiring you to attend on a specific date, please give us a call at 800.606.4878.

AS YOU SIGN UP FOR SOAR YOU WILL:•Set your university password.

Create your official university password to pay your deposit, log in to your student account, and sign in to your email account.

•Pay the $100 university deposit. This deposit is your down payment for tuition and fees and holds your classes until the fee payment deadline for your first semester. The deposit is refundable prior to May 1 for fall semester and December 1 for spring semester.

•Select a few classes (fall semester only). When you register early for SOAR, you will request a basic set of classes based on your intended major or area of interest. This set of classes can be modified when you meet with your advisor at SOAR. The SOAR registration website will guide you through the course request process, taking into account your academic background, such as AP or concurrent enrollment credits.

After you sign up for SOAR and pay your deposit, we will send you a confirmation email. As your date gets closer, we will send you a confirmation letter with arrival instructions and a schedule of events. If you do not have internet access, simply call our office at 435.797.0283 or 800.606.4878.

AT SOAR YOU CAN:•Meet with your academic advisor•Register for your classes•Enroll in University Connections•Learn about and pay tuition and fees•Finalize housing plans•Meet other freshmen and current USU students

PARENT PROGRAMSParents and guardians are invited and encouraged to attend a separate, but concurrent, orientation program. Visit www.usu.edu/parents for details.
