Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Who is eligible to register for the Singapore QP?
A: The minimum entry requirement into the Singapore QP is an accredited accountancy degree.
Accredited degree holders with full exemptions from the Foundation Programme would qualify for
direct entry into the Professional Programme. All other degree holders will be required to complete
the Foundation Programme partially or in full, depending on the number of exemptions granted
before progressing to the Professional Programme.
Q: What are the accredited degrees?
A: Currently, there are 6 accredited degrees with full exemptions from the Foundation Programme.
They are:
Bachelor of Accountancy from the Nanyang Technological University;
Bachelor of Business Administration (Accountancy) from the National University of
Singapore;
Bachelor of Accountancy from the Singapore Management University;
Bachelor of Accountancy from the SIM University;
Master of Professional Accounting from the Singapore Management University; and
Master of Business Administration (Accountancy) from the Nanyang Technological
University.
These degrees are accredited by the Singapore Accountancy Commission (SAC) for direct entry
into the Professional Programme.
Q: If I have an accredited degree, do I get exemptions from the Professional
Programme?
A: No, all candidates must undergo the Professional Programme.
Q: My degree is not accredited, what are the next steps for me?
A: If your degree is not accredited but is comparable to a 3-year undergraduate degree, you may
embark on the Foundation Programme. Please register as a Foundation Programme candidate by
submitting the Online Application Form. To find out more about the Foundation Programme

Q: How do I know if my university is recognised? Is there a list of recognised
universities and degrees for applicants who are interested to apply for Singapore QP?
The list of recognised universities and degrees is not available for publication as it is updated regularly. Please submit the Online Application Form for assessment on a case-by-case basis whether your degree is from a recognised university. There will be a non-refundable application fee of $107 (GST inclusive).
Q: How do I apply for exemptions into the Foundation Programme?
A: Please refer to Annex A of the Online Application Form and supply the relevant course
information (e.g. syllabus and learning outcomes). There will be a non-refundable assessment fee
of $160.50 (GST inclusive). The outcome of your application will be made known to you by email
within 14-30 working days.
Q: What do I do if I am required to do the Foundation Programme partially or in full?
A: Print and present the notification email letter to your Accredited Learning Organisation-
Foundation Programme (ALO-FP) to register for modules required to fulfil the Academic Base
requirement.
Q: Can I embark on the Professional Programme if I do not have a training agreement or
equivalent yet?
A: No. Candidates should have a training agreement with an Accredited Training Organisation
(ATO) in order to enrol in the Professional Programme.
