SITUATIONFrensham Hall Farm occupies a lovely rural position with National
Trust land nearby including Nutcombe Down at the end of Nutcombe
Lane, Polecat Valley and the Devil’s Punchbowl, yet is convenient for
Haslemere town, mainline station and the A3 with the Hindhead
tunnel recently opened.
Haslemere town is about 1.8 miles away and provides a good variety
of boutique shopping, restaurants, a Waitrose supermarket,
recreational facilities and a mainline station with fast trains reaching
London Waterloo in approximately 50 minutes. The A3 London to
Portsmouth road is nearby providing access to Guildford, London,
Heathrow, Gatwick, the M25, and south to the coast.
There is a fine selection of schools in the area including nearby
Amesbury, St Ives, St Edmunds, The Heights, Highfield, Brookham
and the Royal School (both junior and senior). Sporting facilities
include golf at Liphook and West Surrey, racing at Goodwood and
Fontwell, polo at Cowdray Park and sailing off the south coast at
Chichester. There are theatres at Guildford and Chichester.
FRENSHAM HALL FARMApproached via a winding driveway and occupying a very private
position, Frensham Hall Farm is a charming Grade II listed early
Georgian property which has been sympathetically maintained by the
current owners. The entire property is extremely light and well-
proportioned, benefiting from lovely views over the gardens or
courtyard. The reception hall is commanding both in proportions and
character, featuring a substantial open fireplace. The drawing room
benefits from two sets of double French doors leading out to the
gardens and period features such as oak flooring and original shutters
can be seen throughout.
On the first floor is a generous master bedroom suite with dressing
room, as well as five further bedrooms and two family bathrooms.
The wonderful sense of space and light continues throughout.
THE COURTYARDThe courtyard sits to the north of the house and consists of the fabulously converted Grade
II listed Coach House and former stable block. Having been beautifully refurbished by the
current owners, both buildings provide excellent ancillary space. There is ample storage and
garaging on the ground floor and either building could be used for residential use, subject to
the necessary consents. Much of the buildings’ original character has been retained, including
the original doors with runners and marble-tiled feeders in the old stables.
GARDENS AND GROUNDSFrensham Hall Farm provides extremely diverse gardens and grounds of about five acres.
The formal gardens have been cleverly arranged into separate enticing areas, such as a walled
garden, classic Victorian yellow border, badminton lawn and water feature. The garden has
been planted to provide ever changing colours for a large proportion of the year.
To the south and east of the property lie a paddock, woodland, four lakes and four ponds,
allowing for lovely walks all within the privacy of the property boundaries.
