Balloon RideCAMBRIDGE In an effort to

encourage everyone to shop locally, the Cambridge Valley Chamber of Commerce is spon-soring a drawing to win a bal-loon ride at this year’s Cambridge Valley Balloon Festival on June 1 to 3. Every time you make a purchase at a participating member store or business until May 30, you will be entered in a free drawing to win a balloon ride at the balloon festival.

To enter, look for the special gift bags displayed at local chamber member businesses. Make a purchase, write your name and phone number on the receipt, and drop it in the bag. You can enter as often as you like.

The ride will be available, weather permitting, on Saturday evening, June 2. Participants must be at least 18 years old to win.

On May 31, the winning entry will be drawn by the Balloon Festival Committee, and the winner will be contacted imme-

diately. The Saturday launch is expected to take off between 6:30 and 8 p.m. The winner should report to the Chamber merchandise booth by 6 p.m.

In the event that inclement weather forces cancellation of the launch, the ride will only be rescheduled if the pilot can accommodate the winner dur-ing the Festival weekend.

For more information, visit www.cambridgenychamber.com.

uCar Show, More

FORT EDWARD The Little Theater on the Farm will be set-ting for two events on Saturday, May 19, with a Cruisin’ in the on the Farm Car Show during the day and a Hee Haw Variety Show in the evening.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Cole’s Cruisers will put on a car show featuring live music, a swap meet for car parts and tools, a crafts fair, flea market, bake sale and raffles. Food will be available throughout the day.

To register a car for the show, contact Dave Cole at 518-360-6364.

Later, at 7 p.m., the Little Theater on the Farm will host the Hee Haw Variety Show.

Produced by Steve “Skeeter” Morse, the show is a re-creation of the classic 1970’s TV show starring Buck Owens, Roy Clark, and Minnie Pearl.

“It’s going to be a really great show,” said Morse. With the per-formers dressing up like the original stars and the stage set like the Hee Haw stage, he expects the production will give the audience the feeling of the TV show. He added that the comedy/musical show is family oriented.

Morse will portray show host Buck Owens. Other performers include Sandy Wheeler as Minnie Pearl, Rick Thombs as Grandpa Jones, and Chris Donaldson as Patsy Cline. In addition to musical perfor-mances, the show will also include “pop-up” skits done in the style of the original show.

Morse, a member of the board of directors of the Little Theater on the Farm, said he was inspired to create the show by the theater’s stage. “It repli-cates the Hee Haw stage pretty close,” he said. After a year’s worth of work assembling a cast, the show is now ready.

The complete cast includes Steve “Skeeter” Morse, Chris Donaldson, Jim Donaldson, Allen Bogart Jr., Sandy Wheeler, Tom Moore, Scott Pulver,
