Duties and Responsibilities You will receive notification of your award within a few weeks of the application deadline. The award funds are disbursed by the end of the Spring Term. Remaining funds will be issued to you in the form of an overage check mailed to your permanent address or via direct deposit.

Selection Criteria
FREEMAN SCHOLARS
AWARDThe Freeman Scholars Award is an award of
up to $5,000 provided to support study
abroad experiences in Asia to Moore School students participating in a Global Classroom
program.
The number of awards varies.
The award is intended to offset the cost of
participation in a Moore School Global Classroom Program.
• Minimum GPA 3.0• Be a full-time, undergraduate, degree-seeking USC-
Columbia student• Be a student in the Darla Moore School of Business• Be in the process of applying or have already
applied to a Maymester Global Classroom programin Asia
• Submit completed application materials to AmandaBirkenhauer in the Office of International Activitiesin the Moore School by the posted deadline
• Be able to submit a non-refundable deposit of $350on your chosen program

Step 1: Fill out the application thoroughly. Typed responses required.
Step 2: Submit Scholarship Application form, sealed Academic Reference letter from a USC faculty or
staff member, Financial Aid Award History Letter (printed from my.sc.edu, click on student>financial
aid>award>award history), and an unofficial USC transcript (printed from my.sc.edu, click on
student>student records>academic transcript).
Step 3: Submit in hard copy (printed and signed) to the Moore School, Suite 228 by November 16th
at 5 p.m.

Essay: Describe your international interests, any international exposure, and why you think a Global Classroom program – specifically a program in Asia – will
enhance your education while at USC.(500-1,000 words)
