THEY WERE SLAVESThis was a hard time for African – American slaves

MAJOR CHARACTERS

Corey - He is 8 years old and a slave. He lives with his mother and father and other relatives. He was not scared when he was alone in the woods.Daddy – He is a run away slave trying to get north where there is freedom.

Corey was treated badly by the slave owners

THE MAIN PROBLEM FOR THE CHARACTER

Corey was trying to run away from slavery.

Corey was not a slave anymore because he ran away.

MAJOR EVENT

Corey left the south and ran away to the north to be free.

SOLUTION

Dad and Corey went to the north then they got away from the slave catchers.

INTERESTING PERSON

Corey was interesting to me because he ran to the north because he wanting to be free. I would not want to be a slave either.
