HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION FACILITY (HHWCF) Residents of Shasta County may bring
household hazardous waste (HHW) from their
homes to the City of Redding’s HHWCF at no
charge. This service is not available to
businesses. The facility accepts fluorescent
lights and household batteries from businesses
for a fee and by appointment only.

• State law prohibits the transportation of more
than 5 gallons or 50 pounds of hazardous
waste at a time.

Medications must be removed from containers and
placed in a zip-type bag for disposal. It is okay to
mix multiple medications in the same
bag. All liquids, powders, and
ointments should be tightly sealed,
left in their original container,
and placed in a zip-type bag.

information and visit recycle.co.shasta.ca.us for
information on recycling the empty bottles.
