The Indian TreeOnce upon a timeaside east Toto Roadstood an Indian treeages old.Passing there one dayI was shocked to see it gone.We took a double take.Sure ‘nuff sawed down.Seemed a mystery to me.Some weeks passed by.By odd chance I found outwho, when, where, not fully why.Few months went by. . . . . .From time to time, speaking with othersfeeling the same shock I had felt.Surprised me at the manythat grieved the Indian tree a loss.I wonder at the many more that feel the same.So now I’m thinking. . . . . .The people that are responsiblefor the treasured Indian tree’s demiseowe the people of Starke Countya public explanation at this time.
