IMPORTANTUse only the Robin yarn specified. We cannot accept responsibility for an imperfect project if any other brand is used. It is essential to work to the tension stated. The quantities of yarn stated are based on average requirements and are therefore approximate.

ABBREVIATIONSK - Knit; P - Purl; st(s) - stitch(es); st st - stocking stitch (1 row knit, 1 row purl); rept - repeat; cm - centimetres; ins - inches; tog - together; ws - wrong side; rs - right side; Kfb - knit into front and back of st (1 st increased); sl 1 - slip one.

TENSIONIt is important to check your tension before commencing the Cat. 12 sts and 20 rows to 10cm, 4ins over st st on 6mm needles. If there are too many stitches to 10cm, then your tension is tight and you will need to change your needle to a larger size. If there are too few stitches to 10cm, then your tension is loose and you will need to change your needle to a smaller size.

TAIL AND BASEWork as Tail and Base of Little One Colour Cat using the stripe sequence throughout.

MAKING UPALL CATSSew the row end edges of the tail together using top sewing, and stuff lightly.Place the Front and Back of your Cat with right sides together, position the Tail inside the Cat close to the bottom with it’s cast on edge at the row end edges of the body. Pin tail into place.Sew up one side and across the top of the head using back stitch, continue to sew down the other side of the Cat making sure to catch the end of the Tail between the edges of the Cat and sewing through all four layers. Note the Tail should be inside the Cat at this stage. Leave the cast on edge of the Cat open. Turn the Cat right side out.Using a simple running stitch sew across each corner of the head to form ears. Use photograph as a guide.Using a running stitch to sew around the bottom of the head just above the shaping for the shoulders. Before fastening off, stuff the head, then pull the running stitch to form the head, don’t pull it too tight. Fasten off the running stitch securely.Sew the Base to the bottom of the Cat using top sewing, position the Base with the long cast on and cast off edges at the front and back of the Cat and the narrow row end edges at the side seams of the Cat. Sew most of the way round leaving a small opening. Stuff the Body of the Cat then finish sewing the Base into place.
