Free Leprechaun Hat Crochet Pattern
Enjoy this free pattern to crochet a Leprechaun Hat to use for St. Patrick's Day decorating. We used it to dress-up a life-size crocheted PUG dog. The hat measures about 4-1/2 inches tall when made with 4-ply yarn.

Rnd 1: ch 2,6 sc in 2nd ch from hook,
join with a sl st in first sc. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: ch 1,2 sc in each sc around,join with a sl st in first sc. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: ch 1,(Sc in next sc,2 sc in next sc) 6 times,join with a sl st in first sc. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: ch 1,(Sc in next 2 sc,2 sc in next sc) 6 times,join with a sl st in first sc. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: ch 1,(Sc in next 3 sc,2 sc in next sc) 6 times,join with a sl st in first sc. (30 sc)
Rnd 6: ch 3 (counts as first dc),Work in back loops onlyDc in each sc around,Join with a sl st in top of ch 3. (30 dc)

Buckle:
With yellow yarn, ch 17, 1 hdc in 2nd ch from the hook, 1 hdc in the next 2 chs, 3 hdc in the next ch, *1 hdc in the next 4, 2 hdc in the next hdc, repeat from * 2 more times, join and tie off. Sew on to belt,
HatbandWith black yarn ch 35,Dc in fourth ch from hook and in each chain across.Fasten off leaving 10” for sewing.Thread hatband through buckle openings.Wrap hatband around hat, sew ends together and fasten off.
