FREE disability support worker training CHC33015 Certificate III Individual Support The Disability Trust in the lllawarra region are seeking to prepare, train and trial potential individual support worker trainees across a person-centered, caring and inclusive environment. In collaboration with the Wesley Vocational Institute, a vocational and non-accredited training program is being offered to a group of eligible, suitable and genuinely interested young people aged between 19 and 24 years looking for a career opportunity at The Disability Trust. This exciting lllawarraYES program brings together Training Services NSW Smart and Skilled funding and Department of Jobs and Small Business Launch into Work funding to provide eligible youth job seekers in the lllawarra region with a tailored and supported pathway into employment. IllawarraYES program benefits: Complete 5 accredited units of competency in the areas of: ~ HLTAID003 Provide First Aid ~ CHCDIV001 Working with diverse people ~ CHCLEG001 Working legally and ethically ~ HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care ~ CHCDIS007 Facilitate empowerment of people with a disability. Complete workplace specific training and employability skills development (non-accredited): ~ Participate in life skills development in the areas of financial health, physical health, mental health, social interaction and workplace culture and communication. ~ Undertake client centred training in the areas of medication management, abuse and neglect, infection control, behavioural support and values in action (VIA). Complete supervised placements with an experienced supervisor and trained mentor: ~ Participants are to commit to the 12 week program including fulfilling all training attendance, assessment and placement requirements across various sites in the Illawarra region. • Minimum P1 Provisional Drivers Licence

• Willing to undergo a Working with Children Check and Criminal Record Check.

• Eager to gain a part time traineeship completing a Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) on completion of the program.
