Brothers and Sisters, What a fun month we've had. First was down to Vero BeachAerie for the Snowball dance, what a great job done by all. Next was up to OrmondBeach, my apologies to you for not being able to attend. My thanks to President-ElectDave Lowe for representing on my behalf, he informed me of what a good time theyhad with you. Next was off to Jupiter Aerie another great time we had. Ending upthe month was Mid-Winter conference. Wow, What can I say, great job by Ana,Ralph and company, with the Whacky golf Friday afternoon, had a blast.To John and Laura the programs you set up, the speakers, the Q/A session with theGrand Aerie reps was awesome. With all the work done by all, it wouldn't have beenas successful, without you the members, who took the time to come and enjoy theconference. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL. I wish to thank all of our members acrossthis great state of Florida for all the charity money's you raise.Whether it's for Madam President Michelle's State charity or mine,I'm Honored by all of your hard work.It's time to start a new month, Ocala Forest Aerie will be hosting the State Presidentwalk on Feb. 4th which is a sat morning, looking forward to seeing you there.St. Augustine Aerie will be hosting the State dart tournament on the weekend ofFeb. 25-26th, also would like to see you there. We also have the honor ofGrand Worthy President Jerry Sullivan and wife Maxine visiting our state for a fewdays. Feb. 11 Sarasota Aerie, Feb. 12 Saramana Aerie around lunch time,Pinellas Park that eve. On Feb. 13 Dinner in Kissimmee, Feb. 14 dinner at theOrlando Aerie. December 31, 2016. If you have not paid your State Per-Capita Tax let me know and

I will show you where the Invoice can be found.

If you are wanting to run for a State Aerie Office this year you need to send in

your resume and I will forward it to the Nominating Committee Chairman

Any State By-Law changes Your Aerie Meetingmust be approved at then sent to

the State Secretary to turn over to the State By-Law Committee.

The Next Florida State Aerie E-Board will be March 18, 2017 at

Cocoa Aerie 3550 starting at 12:00 Noon

I will be sending out the State Convention packet to the Aerie Secretary

by the first of March. I would like to have an Aerie Secretary Class in May 2017,

if you would like to attend this training please let me know so I can schedule the Class.

I need at least 25 people. The Class would be in the central Florida location.

Dear Sisters and Brothers,Happy New Year! My wish for 2017 is for all of us to treat each other as we would

like to be treated and with “Respect”. I also hope that all of our Aeries and Auxiliariesacross the State of Florida will strive to work together in peace and harmony.

Our first visitation of 2017 was at the District 7 Snowball Dance in Vero Beach.What a “Grand” time I had with Judy Johnson, our G.M.P. Thanks to District 7 for thewonderful seafood dinner Friday night and to Vero Beach for the fantastic lunch atBobby's. Congratulations to District 7 for raising over $11,000 for our charities. Thenwe were off to an old favorite of mine, Ormond Beach #3800. The meal was wonderfuland it was so nice to see so many friends. Thank you to all for your generous donationsto The Florida Hospital Cancer Institute for Pancreatic and Pediatric Research. Throughmy travels I have met so many people who have a loved one who succumbed toPancreatic Cancer.

Sisters, we have not had an auxiliary instituted since 2011. A new auxiliary is currentlybeing organized in Islamorada. If you can take the time please drive down to help Bill,Dennis, Bobby, Michelle and Brenda inspire some new members for a new Aerie andAuxiliary. They meet on the first and third Monday each month. If anyone knowsfriends or family down there, please encourage them to join. If you bring in a guest andthey become a new member your name will be in a drawing to win $50 worth ofmerchandise in the F.O.E.com store. Sisters, when I reviewed the last health report forFlorida,

It is never too early to start thinking about 2017 Florida State Convention June 14-19at the Doubletree in Tampa. Please make your reservations today. It's that time of year again, when we come to your Aerie's, Auxiliaries and Districts to humbly ask for your financialhelp with this very worthy annual event. This years event theme is Beach-Boardwalk at Sunwest Park in Hudson.This park was again selected by the committee because those of you who attended last year know of its beautiful waterpark lake, ample parking with trolly service, sandy white beaches and central location to many Aeries and a new hugeBoardwalk area. Last year we hosted well over 750+ kids and hundreds of adults to a day of fun, food, game booths,clowns, interactive rides, it is just too much to mention all in cooperation with you, the local Aeries. It is time to start thinking about nominations for the Florida State Hall of fame. The following are the requirementsfor nominations: (1) Any member in a local Aerie/Auxiliary, including dual members, in the State of Florida whoshall have accumulated fifteen (15) years of membership in the FOE, and in good standing at the time of nomination.(2) Any deceased member who was in good standing and on the rolls of their local Aerie or Auxiliary in the State ofFlorida, and had not less than fifteen (15) years of service, at the time of their demise. (3) The prospective nominee,during the course of his/her membership in the FOE, shall have demonstrated outstanding character, leadership andservice together with showing a positive dedication to the principals of the FOE. The nominee recommended mustbe approved by motion on the membership floor at a regular meeting, A letter of recommendation shall be forwardto the Hall of Fame Committee and include a statement that the member being recommended meets the eligibilityrequirements and shall be attested too, with the proper Aerie or Auxiliary seal and the signature of the Secretary andthe President. Auxiliary canidates also require a complete resume of the member being nominated. NO letter ofrecommendation will be accepted without the proper documentation.

The State Aerie now offers three schools to help educate our members on the way we are supposed to be conductingour affairs. We now have the Aerie Operations School, Aerie Secretary School and now the Aerie Trustee School.Nominations and elections will be coming quickly upon us, let's start getting the new Officers trained now.There must be at least 20 prepaid signed up members. The classes are $25.00 per member, the host Aerie generallyserves a light lunch for $5.00. We invite all members who want to attend to attend. You do not have to be an Officeror even want to hold office.
