The Beverly Nelson Muldrow Award for the Most Outstanding Student Majoring or Minoring in Africana Studies—Presented for outstanding academic achievement in the study of Africa and its diasporas, including the African American experience, and for contribution to the welfare of the community. It has been established by the F&M African American Alumni Council in recognition of Ms. Beverly Nelson Muldrow Esq. ’71, the first African American woman to graduate from F&M.

John A. Andrew III Award in History and American Studies—The John A. Andrew III Award was established by the family, colleagues, and friends of Professor Andrew, who taught American History at Franklin & Marshall from 1973 until his death in 2000. Professor Andrew also led in the establishment of American Studies at the college and was deeply involved in the Lancaster community. The award recognizes a rising senior in History or American Studies who epitomizes the commitment to scholarship and service that Professor Andrew exemplified.

Jerome Irving Bank Memorial Short Story Prize—Established in 2003 by F&M alumnus Lawrence Henry Bank, Esq. ’65 to honor and preserve the memory of his late brother, Jerome Irving Bank, Esq. Jerome Bank, a graduate of Hobart and the New York University School of Law, and who always wanted to be a writer, but died before realizing his dream. The award is given to the best work of short fiction.
