'" ASIIl NOTo'"

Christmas 1945

Dear Grace:

This is the first Christmas in many years where such things as reminiscences take away so much of the happiness -- so much of everything that made the Christmases of past years so welcome -- so joyous.

Time marches on. But thoughts of Time turn backwards just now. They are monopolized by thoughts of old and very precious friendships.

And, so, I think of ~ and wish you a MERY CHRISTMAS -- a NEW YEAR of greater happiness than has been possible for a long, long time.

Very Sincerely,

<' .. :I9J?":p
