The Sam & Louie’s StoryFrom vacuums to restaurants, I love to scale businesses and watch owner’s succeed Tired of the corporate
drama and micro-management in the infamous Ivory Tower, I decided after 17 years in the direct sales
business to own a business of my own. The American Dream right?
What was the most important thing to me though was my family and what kind of role could they play. This is
where my daughter, Melissa comes into the picture. After college, she had decided too that corporate America
wasn’t for her and her best times were spent working at a local pizza restaurant. She came to me one day and
said “How about pizza? Everyone loves pizza!” This is where I came in with a “Brilliant, let’s do it”! So, in April of
1994, we opened our first location, which is still operating successfully today.
So Who are Sam & Louie anyway? One day I was driving down the road and finally it hit me, “Sam & Louie’s”.
Great name, great people so it was perfect! My father’s name was Sam and my wife’s father’s name was Louie.
Sounds like a couple of NY mobsters right? Keeping in line with the family operated business that we set out
to create, we chose a name with real family meaning.
Family and key employees is what we started with and continue to believe in.
My son Michael and daughter Melissa are very involved with growing the business in many different facets. The
restaurant was a quick success and something my family and I became very passionate about. This passion
spread and we were suddenly being asked for the concept to be franchised. Since I have a passion for helping
other’s succeed we sat down at our first office (a six-top table in the dining room of the pizzeria).
By 2001, we were officially a franchise. We have welcomed many different owners
and communities into our family and have been overwhelmed by their
support to continued success. Through this process, we grew to find our
customer’s really were responding to all of our Italian food and we re-branded
in 2016 as Sam & Louie’s Italian Restaurant. We have found that smaller
communities really need that “nice” restaurant that has choices in food, great
customer service and an awesome atmosphere. That is exactly what we look
for in franchisees....passion for offering their community something unique
and involvement locally.
We currently have family restaurants throughout the states of
Nebraska,Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Wisconsin and Montana. We look
forward to talking with you about growing with our family of franchisee’s.

Company CultureIt’s important for us to pick the right partners for our family of owners. When your partners believe in your
concept and in you, then they usually pick up on the attitude and strategy of success within the organization.
It starts with a great fit of an owner, but trickles all the way down to selecting the right managers to help
select the right team members to have on the team. Attitude of positivity, high energy and a big heart for their
community. We care about every person in our family of partners from the owners to the dishwashers and
want them to feel that they are supported and cared about.
We provide a Franchisee Liaison who is available by phone or email at all times as well as visits our restaurants
quarterly, or when requested to help with any issues from staffing to marketing, the assistance is there for
them. Our goal is to preserve our culture by helping develop each relationship with our owners and managers
with our continual visits and support.
We believe our culture is not learned thru training manuals and policies, but rather taking care of the people
behind the outstanding customer service experience. We feel that when a guest comes to one of our
restaurants, they will be blown away with great service, supreme food choices and a great environment. Why
will they be blown away? Because everyone in our large family of owners and employees are treated with
respect and have fun when they are at work knowing that each one of them is important to the success of the
dining experience. A happy employee ensures a happy customer experience!

3 Reasons Why Military Make Great Franchise Owners
Strong Leadership Skills
Military veterans are used to operating in an extremely
structured and team-oriented environment. They
know how to give orders and delegate. Whether the franchise business requires managing a team of two
or 200, veterans know how to lead, stay organized, and
function under pressure.
Adept at Following Systems
Good franchisors lay out the steps for success in advance.
The most successful franchisees are those that follow the guidelines set
by the franchisor and that utilize all of the resources and support available to
them. Veterans are skilled at taking orders and getting
things done – their lives oftentimes depend on it.
Dedication and Perseverance
Any business owner will tell you that no matter what type of product or service
you sell, running a business is never easy. A commitment to the brand and a passion for success can make a huge difference in the overall prosperity of the franchise business.
For veterans, hard work and commitment are a part of the job description. You’d be hard pressed to find a person more dedicated
than a veteran who has sacrificed for his or her country. Determination, dedication, and
performance are ingrained in their work ethic.

The Franchising concept is an American economic success story. With over $800 billion in annual sales, 50% of all consumer purchases are made through a Franchise, with an estimated increase to 70% in years to come.
Franchising could be your personal
success story!
The United States Department of Commerce reports that “less than 5% of the nation’s Franchises fail each year.” Compare that to the Small Business Administration’s records that 80% of all private businesses eventually fail, most within the first year. Franchising is a strategy that allows for the dynamic relationship of established business know-how and the entrepreneurial spirit. With our support, Franchising with Sam & Louie’s could be YOUR personal success story!

We know that marketing your business has many facets to it and each community operates individually. Marketing is not always cookie cutter in its design, and we work individually with each owner to assure we are communicating local ownership.
FranchiseSamandLouies.com
What Does it Take• Strong Community Ties• Reliability• Leadership Skills• Good Judgment• Desire to Improve Your Community• Restaurant Experience is NOT Required• Previous Business Ownership and/or
Sales Experience is a HUGE Plus
ReliabilityAre you reliable and work
conscientious? Good franchisees tend to be reliable and solid
individuals who are careful but not necessarily risk adverse.
Good at NetworkingAre you good with people? All
businesses have customers. We are fortunate to offer great food, service and atmosphere to your community. You and your staff will be the voice
of your business. It is important to be at community events to promote
your business.
Leadership SkillsDo you have some business skills?
Franchisors tend to look for franchisees that have developed certain life and business skills. Dealing with people,
leading a team, communicating with others will count in your favor as you
will be the boss of your own business.
Good JudgementEvery business carries a risk,
some more than others. But with franchising, the franchisor will do what they can to help eliminate possible threats and guide you
on your way to franchise success. However, as a successful franchisee you must have good judgment to
assess whether or not something is considered worthy of a risk or not.
Good CommunicatorBefore making any decisions about
entering into a franchise opportunity, franchisees should make sure they talk everything over with their family and
loved ones. After the franchise is agreed upon and supported by all involved,
the franchisee must maintain effective communication links between family
and franchise; franchisee and franchisor; franchisee and suppliers, staff, customers etc. Excellent communication skills are
a necessary element of a successful franchise operation.
Financial AwarenessHave you got the necessary finances
to set up a franchise? A good franchisee will have the necessary
start up and investment finance set up prior to any franchise agreement.
