Thanks to everyone for your prayers, cards, visits, and acts of kindness over the last months since my heart surgery in December. With the coming of spring I hope to be outside enjoying more of God's handiwork in the beauty of the spring flowers, and look forward to seeing your smiling faces.

Blessings to all, Don Wenger

Thank you for all of the thoughts, prayers, cards, and visits after Troy was born. Also thank you to the church for the beautiful quilt. We are very blessed to have such a wonderful and supportive church family.

Justin, Crystal, Blake, and Troy Gibble Dear East Fairview Brethren, Audrey and I have been the recipients of your abundant love for the past month. While my surgeries brought unexpected outcomes, it also brought joy and peace to us. The outpouring of visits, cards, flowers, prayers and chocolates were appreciated and treasured. God was present in the operating rooms, patient rooms and our home following my discharge. The many believing healthcare professionals who read my charts said that it had to be Him. He knows the plans He has for me, and I'm now being blessed with those plans. Your care, concern and prayers continue to make a tremendous difference in our lives, and we thank each and every one of you for letting God's love flow through you.

Hallelujah, Jim and Audrey Sanders

Thank you for your prayers, cards, meals, and visits after my back surgery.

Jody Gibble "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God." Matthew 5:9 Our family wishes to express thanks and gratitude to our church family and friends, who ministered to us during mother's illness and passing. Whether a school bag was packed, supplies purchased, postage contributed, words of sympathy spoke or sent, or you participated in her memorial service, we have been touched. Mother's life was a shining example of God's Love. May we honor her, and our Lord, by sharing His LIGHT with the world each day. May God richly bless you all!

Messenger Magazine *Copies of the Messenger Magazine (the official publication of the Church of the Brethren) are available in the church library and on the revolving rack in the lobby. Check it out! Articles in the April 2014 issue include:

*Risks and rewards of waging peace…What does Jesus’ mandate to be peacemakers mean for us in our own communities? Peggy Faw Gish offers practical examples for ways we can wage peace, whether at home or abroad. *Aliens in our midst…Just who are the aliens among us, and how should we treat them? Answers may be found in Leviticus---and Shakespeare. *Leading EYN through its most difficult time…Samuel Dante Dali, president of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, talks about the tumultuous events grabbing headlines in Nigeria, where Brethren have been involved for decades. *The perils of skipping love feast…One of the greatest challenges facing the church isn’t that we are divided along conservative and liberal lines, it’s that we just don’t want anyone telling us what to do. But maybe it’s time for a little self-examination and soul-searching, especially before we sit down to love feast.

Memorial Garden Dedication - May 18th Located just behind the directional sign after crossing the bridge into Camp Swatara is the Camp Swatara Memorial Garden. Funds to establish this garden were given in memory of Grace Heisey who served with her husband, Adam, as Family Camp Managers. Additional funds were given in more recent years in memory of Ron Mellinger. This beautiful garden provides a special spot for gentle strolls or quiet reflection. In addition, persons connected to camp can request permission to use the garden for depositing ashes following cremation. Please join us on Sunday, May 18th at 3pm as we hold the Memorial Garden Dedication. We will gather near the garden entrance for the dedication and then enjoy light refreshments together.

Details, Details, Details In every family, business or church, God provides individuals with different talents and gifts that are needed for ideas and dreams to be achieved. Pastor Jimm had a vision for someone to help facilitate such ideas and dreams that are presented to the church. With a talent for detail and process, Ann Moyer was asked and has agreed to volunteer in the role of church administrator. By working alongside staff and leaders of the church, our prayer is for Ann to help these dreams become reality and allow God to work through us.
