2nd Annual FTP SEMINAR **SEMINAR DATES: NOVEMBER 17 & NOVEMBER 18, 2012**

AT THE POMEROY SPORTS CENTRE, FORT ST. JOHN , BC

FORT ST. JOHN FIGURE SKATING CLUB

Moderators include:

Steve Muff– Has coached at the Mount Boucherie Skating Club for 13 years. He is a National level NCCP Level 3 Certified coach with partial NCCP Level 4 Certification. During his time with the MBSC Steve has produced multiple Provincial Champions, Provincial Medalists, and National Competitors. He is an expert in both the DartFish Video Analysis system and Pro Motion Harness System. Since the inception of the “New Judging System” Steve has been involved with the International Skating Union working at International Events in places such as Korea, Hungary, New York, Mexico, and Halifax . Steve’s worked with Skate Canada at the last 4 National Championships as a member of the technical panel. In addition to being the Director of Skating at the MBSC, Steve is also a Development Director for Skate Canada BC/YT Section and a member of the BC/YT Section Skater Development Committee. He has been invited by the International Skating Union to participate in the 2013 World Championships in London, ON as a member of the technical team on the judges panel. Steve also works with high performance skaters at the Kelowna Skating Club Center of Excellence. Steve is deeply involved with the development of skating in British Columbia. Away from the rink Steve enjoys playing tennis, mountain biking, hiking and kayaking. Kelsey Williams – Kelsey is entering her fifth year as a coach at the Mount Boucherie Skating Club. She is a provincial level NCCP Level 2 Certified coach with partial NCCP Level 3 Certification. Kelsey, a high level competitive skater who spent a number of years on the BC/YT Section Provincial Team also qualified for the Skate Canada Western Challenge National qualifying event. During her time as a coach at the BSC she has contributed to the success of a number of Provincial and National level athletes. She was the team coach for the 2011 ISU International Children’s Games, and will be the team coach for the 2012 BC Winter Games. Kelsey was a moderator at the 2011 BC/YT Section Provincial Development Seminar. She is currently enrolled in the Human Kinetics Program at Okanagan College and uses her knowledge of off-ice training and sports performance to develop training programs for the members of the MBSC. Her knowledge of music and choreography styles make her a huge asset at the MBSC. Away from the arena Kelsey loves to go running, rollerblading and regularly plays soccer. Joanne Rondeau – She was raised in Fort St John, skated with the FSJ FSC for 12 years and attended Summer School in Penticton. She was encouraged by Connie Patterson to become a Judge / Evaluator at the age of 16 and has been judging ever since. Her judging qualifications include Gold Dance / Freeskate / Skills / Interpretive Evaluator and Senior Singles / Juvenile Pairs / Juvenile Dance Competitive Judge. One of her favorite judging experiences was being asked to Judge at the 2010 Arctic Winter Games that were held in Grande Prairie, Alberta. She enjoy working with the skaters on ice, and has very fond memories of one her judging mentors, Cathy Clarke providing the same on-ice feedback for her. She is a Respiratory Therapist & Cardiology Technologist, and work full time at the Fort St John Hospital. She has been married for 22 years and has a 9 year old son. Additional Seminar Information: • All  skaters  will  take  part  in  both  on  and  off-ice  sessions  with  the  above  moderators.  • These  will  be  fun  days,  running  from  8  –  5  Saturday  and  8  –  3:15pm  Sunday  and  will  

include  a  stroking,  edge session  on  our  400  M  Oval. On Ice Sessions will include Jumps, Presentation & Choreography. (Maximum of 20 skaters per group)

• The  Arena  Food Concession will also be available.  • Small  snacks  will  be  provided  • Skaters  will  need  to  bring  a  yoga  mat,  water  bottle,  proper  skating  attire  for  on-ice, and proper athletic wear and

footwear for off-ice jumps as well as a dance and yoga class.  • Schedules  will  be  available  Monday  November.  9,  2012  for  the  seminar.  • Solo Evaluation by Steve for Star 2 Skaters and up will be done on Friday November 16, 2012 from 5:00 pm – 7:00

pm. Additional fee of $20.00 will be charged. Limited # of spaces are available  • Dance Evalulation by Joanne for Jr. Bronze to Gold dances only will be done on Friday evening for a Additional

fee of $10.00 also includes a Classroom Session on Saturday.
