Formidable Exporter Award In preparation for the ASEAN Economic Community effective January 1, 2015, The Department of Industry and Trade of Central Java sought to promote export firms in Central Java. Exporters that showed improved performance from year to year were awarded as Formidable Exporters of 2015. After passing the selection process, PT Ungaran Sari Garments became the first place winner of Formidable Exporters in 2015. The award was presented on August 15, 2015 by Ganjar Pranowo, the Governor of Central Java, to Director Pong Nugroho and HR Manager Nur Arifin of PT Ungaran Sari Garments.

HERproject Kick Off Meeting

Busana’s partnership was key to the successful launch and implementation of the HERproject in Indonesia. In appreciation of the continued commitment towards women’s health, Ann Inc. appointed PT Ungaran Sari Garments as the flagship factory to champion their “100,000 Women Development Program” in Indonesia. On August 19, 2015, the Congol unit hosted the Kick-Off Meeting HERproject for other factories in Indonesia. Through this meeting, the management of PT Ungaran Sari Garments presented the best practices that have been implemented. Ann Inc. hopes this will encourage other factories to join the HERproject and foster the a culture that positively impacts its female employees. Ann Inc.’s, Jeannette Ferran Astorga and Marianna Tsien launched the Kick Off.

Independence Day Ceremony and Celebration August 17 is the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. As usual, PT Ungaran Sari Garments held a flag-raising ceremony at the Pringapus unit. At the ceremony, 250 employees formally saluted the flag in unison. In addition to the ceremony, each unit of PT Ungaran Sari Garments held various competitions and entertainment events to invoke the joy and spirit of employees. The various events were held throughout July and August 2015. “Freedom and Cheer” was the theme of the celebration of independence in 2015.

Gold Award for the Prevention of HIV / AIDS In The Workplace

The Minister of Manpower and Transmigration, Hanif Dhakiri presented a gold award to PT Ungaran Sari Garments. The award was given in appreciation of the effort to create awareness amongst employees and local community regarding HIV/AIDS prevention. The award cermeony was held on September 10, 2015, at the Bidakara Hotel in Jakarta.

Energy Savings

The use of electricity and diesel fuel per garment in PT Ungaran Sari Garments decreased 15.67% from 2012 baseline to 2015

The gas emission spent per garment in PT Ungaran Sari Garments decreased 12.79% from 2012 baseline to 2015

The largest percentage reduction in the use of electricity and diesel fuel is in Ungaran unit with 19.38%, Congol unit with 17.32% and Pringapus unit with

10.37%

The largest percentage reduction in emission gas spending is in Ungaran unit with 16.37%, Congol unit with 14.48% and Pringapus unit with 7.96%

Aid for Toddlers

In August 2015, the HERprpject Peer Educators of PT Ungaran Sari Garments made a visit to the local Integrated Service Post for Toddlers (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu - Posyandu in Indonesian language). The team arranged a distribution of food and vitamins as recommended by doctors. Distribution of eggs and bananas were provided for 50 toddlers. The team also explained to mothers the importance of nutrition for toddlers.

Clean Water Supply

Due to prolonged dry season in 2015, the remote areas of Indonesia struggled with a shortage of clean water. In the month of September, employees arranged a distribution of 60,000 liters of clean water to four villages in Central Java that needed.

Old Age Home Donation

In July of 2015, representatives of PT Ungaran Sari Garments visited the Wreda Wening nursing home located 5 kilometers from Pringapus unit. Donations in the form of snacks, medicines and adults diapers were contributed to the home. The center is occupied by 83 elderly.
