Forecaster of OXFORD BAPTIST CHURCH Oxford, North Carolina November 22, 2013 Recently, you may have encountered mysterious yellow cables and dust in hallways and Sunday School rooms. In some of these places, things have been unsightly, but this will end soon. In August, the Deacons approved the purchase and installation of a new phone system. An ad hoc committee of Deacons recommended Newcomb Computers for the project based on price and referrals from church members who are also small business owners. The process of installing upgraded cabling for the new system began in October. Five young men worked three consecutive Wednesday nights on the cabling. In all, the 25+ hours they invested in this project saved the church over $3,000. Last week, the installation and switch to the new system took place. There is now a phone in every area of our church and most of our buildings have WiFi access. These changes represent a monumental upgrade in technology that will serve our congregation well for many years to come. This project also immediately enhances our security. Our phone system is now able to keep pace with technological advances and the internet connectivity enhances our education ministry immediately. Great things have been happening in our buildings and this project is almost complete. Several hours of finishing work will be completed soon, so thank you for your patience. The misplaced ceiling tiles and piles of dust that were forgotten by volunteers and quietly overlooked by you have allowed us to do something great for our church. In the months to come, other Deacon- approved building upgrades will stir up new dust, but our enhanced spaces will greatly improve our church’s capacity for ministry. Thank you for being a patient, open- minded and forward thinking congrega- tion. I look forward to the ways our stewardship with these projects will enhance our personal and spiritual stewardship for years to come. With Great Thanks, Chris Ps. As with any new phone, we are learning the ins and outs. If you accidentally get disconnected, please call back because we want to talk to you, we promise! pps. OXFORD BAPTIST CHURCH Oxford, North Carolina November 22, 2013 Recently, you may have encountered mysterious yellow cables and dust in hallways and Sunday School rooms.

In the months to come, other Deacon-approved building upgrades will stir up new dust, but our enhanced spaces will greatly improve our church’s capacity for ministry.

Thank you for being a patient, open-minded and forward thinking congrega-

tion. I look forward to the ways our stewardship with these projects will enhance our personal and spiritual stewardship for years to come. With Great Thanks, Chris Ps.
