A truly exhilarating drive

Ford off er a range of smart, high-tech engines from the performance packed 4.0L I6 and I6 Turbo, to the cleaner, greener EcoBoost™ engine. Each are built to the highest specifi cations for dynamic drive quality.

1. Virtual Pivot Control Link front suspension. Designed specifically to suit New Zealand conditions and roads,

the Virtual Pivot Control Link front suspension combines precise steering control and maneuverability with excellent levels of comfort.

2. Monotone shock absorbers. Improving the vehicle’s connection to the road while providing

improved handling and a more responsive drive.

3. Performance brakes. Standard on G6E Turbo and XR6 Turbo, these larger diameter brakes

feature vented discs to deliver outstanding stopping performance.

4. Specially tuned tyres. Precision tuned tyres and a clever new wheel design reduce road

noise for an enhanced driving experience.

5. Control Blade Independent Rear Suspension (IRS). One of the most advanced suspension systems on any

Australian built car, IRS promises greater handling ability and enhanced ride comfort on the XT.

Lower emissionsBy injecting small amounts of highly pressurised fuel into the combustion chamber, the EcoBoost™ engine increases fuel efficiency by up to 20% and reduces emissions by up to 15% when compared to the I6 4.0L petrol engine. It’s yet another example of Ford’s smart engine technologies.

EcoBoost™ performance

Imagine an engine that delivers all the Falcon performance you’d expect, but with improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. The new EcoBoost™ engine does just that, bringing injection technology and turbo-charging to a petrol engine. The new EcoBoost™ engine will be available in the XT model from May 2012.

Delivering 8.1L/100kms¹ 1. Based on a combined fuel consumption of just 8.1L/100kms. These results are obtained from controlled laboratory tests conducted by Ford Motor Company to Australian Design Rule ADR81/02 and are provided to assist you in comparing the fuel economy of Falcon & Falcon Ute with other like vehicles. The actual fuel consumption you achieve will depend, however, on many factors including your driving habits, the prevailing conditions and your vehicles equipment, condition and use.

iPod1 integrationPlay your favourite music and control it all through the vehicle’s audio system.

USB integrationWith USB integration now standard across the range, simply insert your USB stick into the port to control and play all of your MP3 music files.

Make rear blind spots a thing of the past with a camera that automatically activates when reverse gear is selected providing a 130° wide angle view up to 10 metres behind the car.

Fatigue warningTackling one of the largest hazards to road safety, this feature sounds a warning to drivers to rest after prolonged periods of continuous driving.

Intelligent Safety SystemIn the event of an accident occurring, information is fed to the Advanced Restraints Module which instantly deploys the appropriate safety technologies.DSC

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) strengthens your connection to the road and helps you avoid the problems of over-steer and under-steer. DSC tracks the vehicle’s movement and then works in tandem with Traction Control and ABS to help keep the vehicle under control.

Follow-me-home lightingFront headlights that remain lit for a short period after the vehicle is locked, providing lighting to guide you to your door.
