Everyone's feeling prettyIt's hotter than July
Though the world's full of problemsThey couldn't touch us even if they tried
From the park I hear rhythmsMarley's hot on the box
Tonight there will be a partyOn the corner at the end of the block
Didn't know you Would be jammin' until the break of dawn
I bet nobody ever told you that you would be jammin' until the break of dawn
You would be jammin' and jammin' and jammin', jam on
They want us to join their fightingBut our answer todayIs to let all our worries
Like the breeze through our fingers slip awayPeace has come to ZimbabweThird World's right on the oneNow's the time for celebration'Cause we've only just begun
Didn't know that you Would be jammin' until the break of dawn
Bet you nobody ever told you that youWould be jammin' until the break of dawn
You would be jammin' and jammin' and jammin', jam onBet you nobody ever told you that you

7. Discuss the instruments used in each section and what role they are playingIntroduction- The song starts with the drums playing a quick solo with loud and short notes then plays the beat with low and short notes with the bass guitar playing the riff with low pitched and long notes, the drums always play loud and low pitched notes for an
instrument to join in the song or to go to the next verse. Keyboard then joins in the song by playing a long
and higher note each time after the bass pauses to play the riff again. Later on the saxophones
and the trumpets joins in by playing an off beat improvisation with high pitched and long notes.
1st verse- The first verse is played by the lead singer with the drums keeping the same beat as
the introduction and the bass guitar playing the riff.
Chorus- The chorus is played by the drums, bass and the keyboard. The drums and the bass play
the same notes as the 1st verse and the keyboard playing a high and long notes. Before the chorus ends the drums play loud and low pitched notes for the bass guitar and the
keyboard to play a short and loud noted solo.
2nd verse- The second verse is played the same way as the 1st verse. The vocals join in the song by singing a long and soft harmonic sound, trumpets and saxophones also join in the song by playing the same notes as they did in the introduction.
2nd Chorus- This chorus is played the same as the first chorus, the difference is that in this
chorus the trumpets and saxophones join in by playing a long notes going lower and lower. Also
the vocals sing a call and answer to the lead singer and sing a few of the same lines.
3rd verse- The third verse starts by the same instruments playing the same notes as the
introduction and then played as the 2nd verse.
3rd chorus- The third chorus is played with the same instruments as the 2nd chorus and is
repeated 8 times then the song fades.
8. Discuss the use of the genres characteristics within each section and the song as a whole
The introduction to the 1st chorus section of the song was R&B , when the vocals joined at
the 2nd verse to the 2nd chorus it was gospel soul and the 3rd verse and 3rd chorus it was
both R &B and gospel soul together.
9. Evaluate the piece using musical terms and explain why you think this song was the best
example of the genre. This song was the best example for our presentation because our teacher
told us! Nah we’re joking, the reason why we chose this song is because Stevie Wonder was one of the well known gospel soul artists
