OUR DAILY BREAD needs your help this
Christmas! On Wednesday, Dec 21, Our
Daily Bread will serve its annual Christmas
Meal at First UMC’s Hancock Hall. Because
Athens is so blessed with organizations that
have expertise in gift giving, they plan to
give each of the guests a personal care kit
with items that are always needed and often
asked for. If you wish to participate in this
effort, please put the items found on the list
in your mailbox in a grocery bag and place it
in the collection box in the hallway. There is
no need to gift wrap them. The deadline for
bringing your donations to Covenant is
December 13. Please call Dorothy Newland
at 706-543-3938 is you have any questions.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!
The WoRM Sunday School program needs teachers! Please consider sharing your talents and faith with the children of the church for one rotation or several! Volunteer teachers lead the same activity for 2 out of the 4 week rotation, making small changes to accommo-date various aged children. Simply sign up to teach a favorite activity (arts/crafts or drama/storytelling or cooking/science or Bible games) - a lesson plan will be
provided. Also check out the Worm Snack sign up list. Be a blessing and be blessed!

Welcome to our newest member at Covenant! Jim Cooley met with our Session last Sunday, as a transfer from Central in Athens. He’s lived in Athens 40 years, now retired as professor at UGA. A lifelong Presbyterian from his childhood in TN, Jim is an Elder and has taught adult Bible studies for many years. We look forward to many years of work & worship together. Introduce yourselves and put his contact info in your directories.
Plan now to attend Tara Bulger’s ordination service on Sun. Nov. 27 at 3:00pm at Athens First Pres downtown. She has received a call to become pastor at the Acworth Pres Church in NW Atlanta. We know from her year with us as pastoral intern that they will have a wonderful relationship!
