The site is situated to the south of Wakefield Road (B6135) in Adwalton, directly betweenthe villages of Drighlington and Morley, 5 miles south west of Leeds city centre. The site iswell located for Junction 27 of the M62 which is located less than half a mile to the east.

The site is currently allocated as Green Belt within the Leeds Local Plan, whichincorporates the saved policies of the Leeds Unitary Development Plan, the CoreStrategy and the Site Allocations Local Plan (2019). A review of the Local Plan is at avery early stage, but is underway.

The site has previously been promoted for residential development in the Site AllocationsLocal Plan (Site 1266), having initially been identified through the Strategic HousingLand Availability Assessment (SHLAA).
