What is the Know|Edge Competition?
Over past few years, rapid progress is being made in the payments and cards
industry and it has seen major developments in products, technology and also
regulation. MVL Consulting Private Limited (MVLCO), established in 1996,
celebrates its silver jubilee year in 2020. On this occasion, MVLCO organizes its
first Knowledge Competition for Payment and Card Professionals. The MVLCO
Knowledge Competition takes this interesting subject and offers you an opportunity
to challenge others in this industry by joining this friendly three level online
competition. By participating, you also learn more about this interesting industry,
extend your knowledge horizon and may get an opportunity to interact with industry
experts.
Who can participate?
The competition is focused on payments industry professionals and cards industry
professionals. In order to participate in the competition, you should be working or
aspiring to work with any bank, financial institutions, clearing house or market
infrastructure, payment service provider, software technology company or an
organisation supporting the payments and cards industry.
There are no other restrictions and participants from all countries are invited to
participate!
There is no entry fee or participation fee. However, on registration, you have to
provide information required to check the eligibility as also to send contact details
in order to enable us to send the login particulars to enter the online competition.
Only one entry per participant is permitted. If a participant submits more than one
entries, the participant would be disqualified. Refer Appendix 3 for detailed rules to
participate in the competition.
Competition domains and categories:
The Knowledge competition is broadly divided into two domains and two groups.
Domain 1: Payments Industry Professional
• Black Belt (Senior group) Group Code - PB
• Green Belt (Junior group) Group Code - PG
Domain 2: Cards Industry Professional
• Black Belt (Senior group) Group Code - CB
• Green Belt (Junior group) Group Code - CG

You can join any one or both the domains viz. Payments Industry Professional or
Cards Industry Professional. However, within a domain, you can join only one group
of your choice i.e. Black Belt or Green Belt.
Why should you participate?
The Knowledge competition gives you the unique opportunity to display your
domain skills and to apply to them to challenging problems. You can win awards,
prize certificates and most important, recognition of your knowledge!
Prizes and awards:
All participants, regardless of their results will receive digital participation
certificates to honour their efforts. They will also receive the results of their
performance in qualification round of Knowledge Competition.
The overall best participants from each of the groups can achieve First Prize, Second
Prize or Third Prize.
First Prize Amazon or similar coupon of USD 100 and Prize
Certificate, one recording of CIPSP program or CCPSP
program worth USD 700.
Second Prize Amazon or similar coupon of USD 50 and Prize

How to register?
You will need to fill up an online form on MVLCO website (www.mvlco.com) to
register for Knowledge competition. The forms must be submitted by 21th July, 2020
up to 10.00 PM Indian Standard Time.

Process and competition rounds:
The knowledge competition consists of three rounds i.e. Qualification Round, Pre-
Final Round and Final Round.
The Qualification Round:
The Qualification Round is the first level and consists of 25 objective questions on
topics related to the domains to be answered in continuous 30 minutes. The
Qualification Test can be taken at any time from 24th July, 2020 up to 2nd August,
2020.
The details of topics for the Qualification Round for each domain are given under
Appendix 1. The questions may vary in difficulty levels. The problems can range
from knowledge skills to calculations to ensure that you find it interesting. The
questions will sharpen your mind and also challenge your domain knowledge.
How Qualification Round will be conducted?
The Qualifications Test will be conducted online at https://www.eklavvya.com/
(hereinafter referred to as “Quiz Portal”). Particulars of login details, test process
will be intimated on registration. The system requirements for accessing the Quiz
Portal are provided in Appendix 4.
Each question in the qualifying round will carry 1 mark. There is no negative
marking for incorrect answers. As soon as you submit your Qualifying Test, the
system will immediately announce your marks online.
The participants are allowed to use reference material while answering the questions.
However, taking help of other(s) is strictly prohibited. The activities of participants
would be automatically monitored through camera attached to device using which a
participant has accessed the quiz. Detailed terms regarding proctoring are explained
in Appendix 3. The quiz application also disallows use of key-board or any other
application while the participant is answering objective questions.
You will get only one attempt to appear for the Qualification Test.
When do you qualify for Pre-Final Round?
All the participants will be graded together and top 25 participants from each group
will qualify for the pre-final round.

In order to avoid connection issues, upload errors, and other problems, we highly
recommend you to complete the Qualifying Test several days before the official
submission deadline!
The Pre-Final Round:
The Pre-Final Round is the second level. Top 25 participants from each group are
eligible to participate in the Pre-Final Round. The Pre-Final Round will be more
difficult with challenging problems. The Pre-Final Round can be taken at any time
from 5th August, 2020 up to 16th August, 2020.
The Pre-Final Round will consist of 10 different problems consisting of 4 basic level
problems, 4 advanced level problems and 2 problems requiring research.
4 Basic Level (lowest difficulty level) Problems
The basic level problems will require the participant to peruse the case studies and
provide answers to each of the problems. Each correct solution carries maximum 5
points.
4 advanced Level (higher difficulty level) Problems
The advanced level problems will require the participant to peruse the case studies
and provide a solution to each of the problems. Each correct solution carries
maximum 10 points.
2 Research Problems
The research problems will require the participant to study certain topics related to
the relevant domain and provide a solution to each of the problems. This will give
you a chance to conduct research and also help you in solving the problem. Each
correct solution carries maximum 20 points.
The Pre-Final Round will have both, subjective/descriptive and objective questions.
The Pre-Final Round may also require you to draw flow diagrams and upload the
images. The details of topics for the Pre-Final Round for each domain are given
under Appendix 2.

The Final Round:
The Final Round is the last level and consists of a round of questions and interview
by our eminent panellists from the industry. The panellists will select the final 3
winners out of the participants. The scope of questions can be any topic from
Appendix 1 or Appendix 2.
The Final Round will be scheduled by MVLCO at any time from 21st August, 2020
and 23rd August, 2020. The time schedule for panel interview would be
communicated to the qualifying participants before 21st August, 2020. Any
participant who is unable to appear for panel interview at the scheduled time will be
considered to be disqualified. The system requirements for panel interview are given
in appendix 4.

Appendix 3- Terms and Conditions of Knowledge Competition
I. Background:
The Knowledge Competition (hereinafter referred to as “competition”) is organized
by MVL Consulting Private Limited (hereinafter referred to as “MVLCO”). The
Knowledge Competition is a skill-based online competition in which participants are
asked to submit correct answers to a set of questions using the platform mentioned
in the previous pages. The official language of communication for the competition
would be English (British) only.
II. Eligibility Criteria:
The contestants participating in the Knowledge Competition are hereinafter referred
to as the “Participants”. Contestants are eligible to participate in the Knowledge
Competition in accordance to the eligibility criteria specified below:
1. The To be eligible to take part in the Contest, the Participants need to conform to
all of the following eligibility criteria:
• an Individual;
• aged 18 years and above;
• legally eligible to enter into a contract;
• Working or wishing to work in either payments or card domain
2. This Knowledge Competition is open for the participation of individuals only.
Corporate, Agencies, and any non-human legal entities are not entitled to
participate in this Knowledge Competition.
3. To participate in the Knowledge Competition, the contestant has to read these
terms and conditions completely. And if the terms and conditions are acceptable
to the contestant, the contestant should fill in and submit the requisite the
Knowledge Competition entry form. The link for registration form is available
on www.mvlco.com till the last date of registration.
4. By submitting the entry form, the contestants confirm that all information
provided in the form is complete, accurate and not misleading. No changes can
be made to an Entry once it has been submitted. All entries must be in English.
Incomplete, illegible or garbled entries will be disqualified. LIMIT ONE (1)
ENTRY PER PERSON. Entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the
authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of the
entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is
assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service
provider or organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is
responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the

submitted e-mail address. The Participants can post only one entry and shall not
be using multiple IDs to participate in the Knowledge Competition. Any
participant found using or participating through multiple IDs in the Knowledge
Competition shall be disqualified immediately and shall not be entitled to win
any prizes and shall be barred from participating in any future
competitions/contests conducted by MVL Consulting Private Limited.
5. Only entries submitted electronically through the registration form in
accordance with these Official Rules will be eligible for consideration. All
entries and the information submitted in the registration form become the
exclusive property of MVLCO.
6. Participants may be subject to rules imposed by their institution or employer
relative to their participation in the competition and should check with their
institution or employer for any relevant policies. Participants are responsible for
determining if the competition is legal in their jurisdiction.
7. Any participation entry that violates these Official Rules, applicable laws or
regulations, or participant’s employer’s or institution’s policies will be deemed
ineligible.
8. MVLCO reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant that it
deems to be in breach of these Official Rules.
III. Authentic Information about the Knowledge Competition
Information as available on the official Knowledge Competition page on
www.mvlco.com is the only authentic and valid information about the
Knowledge Competition. MVLCO shall not be responsible for any
incorrect/misleading information relating to the Knowledge Competition,
presented/ displayed on any other source other than the Knowledge Competition
page available at www.mvlco.com and will not be liable for any loss suffered by
any Participant based on the representation, terms, conditions, information
presented / displayed on any other source other than the Knowledge Competition
page.

IV. No Entry Fee / Participation Fee
There is no entry fee or participation fee payable by the Participant/s for
participating in this Knowledge Competition. MVL Consulting Private Limited
will not accept any form of payment from any of the Participant/s interested in
participating in the Knowledge Competition, further participation in the
Knowledge Competition will not in itself make the Participant eligible for the
Prize.
V. System Requirements
Internet access is required to participate in the Competition. It will be the sole
responsibility of the participant to ensure that uninterrupted internet connection
and prescribed system (details given in appendix 4) are available as and when
required, for the purpose of competition.
MVLCO shall not be responsible and/or liable in any manner whatsoever in case
any participant is unable to participate due to failure on part of the telecom
operator, Internet provider, facility provider, etc. Further, MVLCO will have no
liability, in case someone is not able to participate on account of his inability to
access the Knowledge Competition links.
VI. Proctoring for Qualifying Round and Pre-Final Round
As qualifying round and pre-final round will be conducted through an online
quiz portal (www.eklavvya.com), proctoring for the same would be done
through camera / web-camera of the device using which a participant has
appeared for the qualifying and pre-final rounds. The participants will have to
grant permission to the quiz portal (and its application) to access device camera
for proctoring.
Any participant who violates the terms of quiz (tries to communicate with
other(s) or tries to use any other application during quiz) will be disqualified.
Such a disqualification may be immediate by termination of quiz (when quiz
application identifies any prohibited activity) or before declaration of winners
(if MVLCO finds any prohibited activity through proctoring)
VII. MVLCO’s sole right to select winners
MVLCO’s decision on the selection of participants of each round and winner(s)
will be final and binding on all the Participant/s. No correspondence,
clarification, explanation in this regard will be entertained by MVLCO. Any
person or participant carrying out any correspondence or clarification or
tweeting or posting any negative comments about the decision of the Jury or

MVLCO shall liable to MVLCO and shall be immediately disqualified by all
future competitions/contests conducted by MVLCO.
VIII. Prize for Winners
All participants, regardless of their results will receive digital participation
certificates to honour their efforts. They will also receive the results of their
performance in qualification round of Knowledge Competition. The overall best
participants from each of the groups can achieve First Prize, Second Prize or
Third Prize.

Each winner of the Knowledge Competition will be entitled to win the
mentioned gratification based on the selection of the Jury only. The decision of
the Jury shall be final and binding on all the participants.
Under the circumstances of unavailability of prize, a prize of a similar value
shall be distributed to the winners for which he/she has been selected.
All winners will be notified via email by 25th August 2020.
Any participant taking part in the Knowledge Competition and declared the
winner of the Knowledge Competition by MVLCO and is unable to fulfil any
one or more eligibility requirements, as specified in abovementioned clauses of
these Terms and Conditions, on the date of closure of Knowledge Competition,
shall be disqualified from receiving any Knowledge Competition Prize under
this Knowledge Competition. Inability of the Participant to fulfil the eligibility
requirement, shall be construed as violating the terms and conditions of the
Knowledge Competition by such Participant.

Any communication, clarification, query, dispute by the winner or any of the
legal heirs/guardians of the winner in any manner will not be entertained by
MVLCO.
The Prize/s shall be subject to the laws of India, including all the tax laws. All
applicable regulatory and statutory duties, cess, surcharges, taxes (including Tax
Deduction at Source), insurances, transfer fees, registration fees etc. that may be
applicable to avail/use the Prize/s will be borne by Winner.
Each winner should provide the following documents to MVLCO for enabling
them to gratify the winner:
• Name
• Complete postal address with pin code
• Photograph
• Age proof
• Residence proof
• Proof of identity
The winners should submit the necessary documentation / proof of identity and
other relevant documentation, within 7 days of receiving intimation of being
selected as winner of the Knowledge Competition by MVLCO.
The prizes are non-endorsable, not transferable and non-substitutable. MVLCO
will not entertain any requests for exchange in lieu of the prize/s. All prizes are
non-transferable. Cash will not be awarded in lieu of a prize, but MVLCO
reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or similar value at its sole
discretion.
Apart from the entitlement to the above prize/s, the winners and/or their legal
heirs will have no other rights or claims against MVLCO.
MVLCO has sole discretion in the interpretation and enforcement of Knowledge
Competition rules, including but not limited to selection of winner,
disqualification of winner and suspension of response(s) or Participants.
IX. Action against Participants
Any status update, comment, post, tweets made/submitted by any Participant
against the Knowledge Competition, MVLCO, MVLCO employees or Jury shall
be invalid and participant will be liable to compensate MVLCO for losses, if
any, suffered by MVLCO. The concerned participant shall also be immediately
disqualified at the sole discretion of MVLCO.

The response to this Knowledge Competition must be original and confirm to
decency guidelines. Any response deemed to contain content that depicts
violence, immoral, unethical, illegal, anti-social, racial, political, anti-religious,
sexual or any other inflammatory, defamatory or objectionable material will be
disqualified and removed. MVLCO reserves the right to initiate legal action
against such Participants. Interpretation of what is, and is not, appropriate
material is at the sole discretion of MVLCO.
The Participant shall indemnify MVLCO against any claims from any party and
consequent losses, damages, compensation, whatsoever, that may arise from any
use, including but not limited to, publication of response(s) submitted by the
Participant as a part of, or in association with the Knowledge Competition.
X. Right to Use Entries and Information
By entering the Knowledge Competition, participants grant MVLCO, an
exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide right and license to
reproduce, publish, display, edit and otherwise use the submitted Entries, and
participant’s full name and city and state/province/country of residence, online
and in print or any other media for purposes of editorials, exhibition, advertising,
publicity and promotion of the Knowledge Competition and Sponsor’s
publications and products, without additional compensation or permission,
unless prohibited by law.
Participants shall assign the right to use the entries, in any media for brand,
products, business or any other objective by MVL Consulting Private Limited,
as deemed appropriate by them. Winner shall also assign the right to display the
details of winners on any medium (Online, TV, print etc.) or vehicle of MVLCO.
XI. Privacy
Participants personal details will be kept confidential at all times and in
accordance with the data protection act. MVL Consulting Private Limited will
use participant's personal information supplied when registering for current and
future marketing promotional uses.
XII. Sole right to modify, delete terms
MVLCO reserves the right to modify, add or delete any of the terms and
conditions or participation mechanics of the Knowledge Competition at any
point of time at its sole discretion without serving any prior intimation to the
Participants. Intimation of any change, modification, addition, deletion in the
terms and condition of the Contest will be served to the participation by posting
the revised terms and condition of the Contest on www.mvlco.com.

XIII. Limitation of Liability
MVLCO is not responsible for Participant not being able understand the Contest
mechanics or for his misinterpretation of the same. No correspondence,
clarification, explanation in this regard will be entertained by MVLCO.
MVLCO shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations caused
by pandemic, epidemic, weather conditions, fire, flood, strike, hurricane,
industrial dispute, war, hostilities, terrorist attack, political unrest, riots, civil
commotion, inevitable accidents, acts of God, government restrictions, legal
restrictions or any other circumstances amounting to Force Majeure.
MVLCO shall not be responsible for any loss or damage if it has to discontinue
or cancel this Knowledge Competition in compliance with any law, ruling, order,
regulation, requirement or instruction of any Central/State Government or for
any other unavoidable reason beyond its control. The Participant/s shall be
informed of such discontinuance/cancellation as soon as possible.
The aggregate liability of MVLCO in case of any damage, loss, cost, claim,
liability or expense (including legal costs and expenses) caused to or incurred by
any act, omission or representation in respect of the Prize of this Knowledge
Competition to any winner, shall not exceed the value of Prize. Further, MVLCO
will not be liable to share the invoice of the gratification unit with the winner at
any time whatsoever.
MVLCO will not be liable for any loss, claim, damage, expenses whether
expressed, implied, real, consequential incurred by the Participant due to
participation in the Contest. Once the Prize is accepted by the winner, MVLCO
will not be responsible for paying any other tax, fee, etc.
XIV. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and
enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the entrant
and MVL Consulting Private Limited in connection with the Knowledge
Competition, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws
as applicable to District Pune, Maharashtra State, India, without giving effect to
its conflicts of law principles
Any disputes with respect to the Knowledge Competition shall be subject to the
sole jurisdiction of courts in Pune, India.
XV. Agreement to Official Rules
By submitting an entry form, each participant fully and unconditionally agrees
to and accepts these Official Rules and the decisions of MVLCO, which are final

and binding in all matters relating to the Knowledge Competition. Winning a
prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth within these Official
Rules. Participants represent that they meet all requirements for eligibility to
participate in the Knowledge Competition. Any participant found to be acting in
violation of these Official Rules may, in MVLCO’s sole discretion, be
disqualified. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of participant, the
entry will be declared as null and void. Participants shall indemnify the
MVLCO, their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, agents,
professional advisors, advertising and promotional agencies, and directors,
officers and employees thereof, representatives, associates and affiliates of any
of them, against any and all claim, losses, costs, damages, liability and expenses
arising out of the participant’s breach of any of these Official Rules.
