About De Anza MotorlodgeOriginally constructed in 1939, and updated during the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s, The De Anza Motor Lodge was a way station on old Route 66 during its heyday; accommodating travelers and acting as a trading post for Zuni Pueblo. The 50’s update also included a basement banquet room that now includes Zuni Shalako murals that are a cultural patrimony to Zuni Pueblo, Route 66 and the Nob Hill Neighborhood.
Redevelopment will include 25 apartments and 15 hotel rooms, a restaurant to support residents, travelers and again be a way station for Central Avenue all while retaining the murals and cultural artifacts in place; thereby refashioning the nostalgic motor lodge atmosphere and providing a truly unique destination on the heavily traveled Central Avenue.
