ThetopicThe challenge of humanity in the 21stcentury is to satisfy the needs of theglobal population within the planet'sresources.KateRaworthwithherbook"Doughnut Economy" expresses thisconcept very clearly and somesuggestions for the future: "TheDoughnut of social and planetaryboundaries is a playfully seriousapproach to frame this challenge andservesasacompassforhumanprogressin this century. The environmentalceiling consists of nine planetaryboundaries, assetoutbyRockstrometal. (..) The twelve dimensions of the social foundations derive from internationally agreedminimumsocialstandards,identifiedbygovernmentsintheSustainableDevelopmentGoalsin2015.Betweensocialandplanetaryboundariesliesanenvironmentallysafeandsociallyjustspaceinwhichhumanitycanthrive".
