Quilt Show News . . .How about that raffle quilt! We are thrilled with our showmoneymaker! Thank you and congratulations to everyone whoworked to create this extraordinary tribute to our talent as aguild. We feel confident that the quilt will be a huge success --bringing us lots of money for future workshops and programsand bringing us lots of attention for the 2009 show. We wouldlike to thank Holly Greene for being the driving force behindthe quilt and her team of fabulous appliquers, piecers, advicegivers, and donors: Ellen Yunker, Nancy Baxter, Mary Henry,Brenda Arrowood, Barbara Lynch, Leah Day, Marta Jones, NellShrum, Eleanor Morgan, Paula Barringer, Dee Batayte, SylviaLancaster, Ellen Warlick, and Pam Mason. We also like tocongratulate and thank Leah Day for her remarkable quilting.
Now it’s up to all of us to sell the tickets. We're off to a goodstart and we feel that anyone who gets a chance to see the quiltwon't be able to resist buying a ticket or two or ten! Any chanceyou have to show the quilt among a crowd of people (church, special events, your workplace) will be an excellent opportunityto sell more tickets, so contact Holly to make arrangements totake the quilt ON THE ROAD! If you are temptedlike we are to buy all your assigned tickets, that's fine, butplease see Sally Norman for extra tickets to sell to others. Oncepeople see the quilt, the tickets sell themselves! Thank you inadvance for all your selling efforts.
If anyone would like to participate in the QUILT SHOWYARD SALE we are having at the June meeting, make sureyou bring your items to the May meeting so they can be pricedbefore the sale. All proceeds will go to offset the cost of theshow. If you have questions, contact Eleanor at 704-300-3103.
The rules and regulations for your entries in the show will beposted on the website and printed in the June newsletter.
We hope everyone is working on their "In Stitches" challenge. We can't wait to see what tickles your funny bone or maybe it'syour favorite exasperation -- like Eleanor's new puppy! Octoberisn't that far away.
Thank you again to the raffle quilt team. You make us proud tobe part of the Foothills Quilters Guild.
