MISSION-VALUES-VISION

!

The MISSION of the Texas Association of Sports Officials is to be the main advocate for sports officials promoting fair pay, quality working conditions and recognition of the value of our services while providing highly qualified and trained officials who are dedicated to interscholastic competition, participants, coaches and to the game itself for Texas junior, middle and high school athletic contests.

The Board of Directors established a core set of VALUES that reflect the history and fundamental principles embedded in TASO’s more than 75-year history. These values have been the cornerstone and foundation of the organization, emphasizing the importance of what TASO does and how it is done.

MEMBER-DRIVEN

As officials themselves, TASO leadership is focused on the needs of our members

INTEGRITY

Creating and abiding by the highest standards of ethical conduct

TRANSPARENCY

Promote openness and provide access to information to our members; avoiding the appearance of secretive, closed door meetings

ACCOUNTABLE

Responsive to our commitments to members and the schools we serve

EXCELLENCE

Shape the future through quality and character, setting appropriate goals and be accountable, developing leadership, empowering members, promoting statewide officiating mechanics and philosophies, taking pride in our avocation, and enhancing the image of the officiating profession
