FP fits into Make in India opportunity perfectly-Some Ideas
Segment Opportunity
Tea I dia’s e ports largel o prise ulk tea. Produ tio / Manufacturing and Export in packaged form of value added tea
such as orthodox tea, green tea, and organic tea could be
encouraged
Sea Food There is huge potential for processed sea food in ready-to-eat
form such as breaded and battered products processed out of
variety of fish and shellfish. Investment is required in fish
processing, cold chains, handling & packaging of value - added
food
Orange Juice While India is the 3rd largest producer of oranges globally, the
citrus processing industry is still at a nascent stage. Frozen
concentrated orange juice ( FCOJ) for packaged orange juice is
largely imported from Brazil
Oats At present, most of the oats is imported. There is opportunity for
import substitution wherein oats is produced and processed
domestically
