6th Grade Idiom Day!
C-Team Baseball Try-Outs The date for the try outs will be Saturday, February 6th at the baseball
stadium beginning at 10A.M. All players must have an up to date physical
form on file to be eligible for try outs. Forms can be found at
Palmettomustangs.org under the Forms tab.
Players should bring all necessary equipment to the tryout. Players will be
evaluated in all facets of the game as well as attitude and hustle. Final
selection of the team will be based on player evaluations and team needs.
The try out is closed to the public and any parent wishing to watch will have
to do so from outside the gate. If you have any questions regarding this

Science Olympiad Team Science Olympiad Team travels to Newberry College this
Saturday for the State Competition. We will be competing against 27 other teams from all over South Carolina. Team
members should be out in front of the school this Saturday morning by 7:15 - the bus pulls out at 7:30.
We will return around6:00.

PE Update from Coach Parsons: Shout out to my A1 Gold PE students: Darcy Holcombe,
Avery Nelms, Allison McCauley, Elyse Browning and
Madison Crumley. They all met the A1 Gold standards in
all areas of the Fitness Gram!!!
Art Update from Mr. Addison Please email Mr. Addison at [email protected] if you have any questions. Palmetto Middle Art students Carrie Hayden, Ashlyn Citrone, and
Skyler Beacham had poster artwork that placed in the TOP TEN
in the state in the recent Atlantic Institute's Poster Contest.
Final places will be announced at an awards ceremony February 20
at 2pm in Columbia. This is the top art contest in terms of
potential prizes in the State. Cash, iPads, and a free trip to
Europe/Asia for the top three. Congratulations, and good luck!
Guidance Update from Mrs. Sargent: Please email Mrs. Sargent at [email protected] if you have any questions. Job Shadowing: All Palmetto Middle School students are allowed
to job shadow one day between the dates of February 1st-
February 29th. It is not mandatory. If your child wishes to
participate please have him/her pick up a Job Shadowing
Information form from one of the school counselors and return it
completed. Mrs. Sargent will then approve the form and give
them further information regarding their job shadowing
experience.
Please note that students are NOT allowed to shadow teachers in
Anderson School District One.

Palmetto’s Finest Qualifications for the 4th Nine Weeks

questions.
To earn Palmetto's Finest you must meet the following criteria: 1) All grades 80's and above
2) No demerits for the nine week period
3) No more than 2 unexcused absences.
4) Complete community service hours
10 hours of service are required for the first quarter. Students simply
record the hours they volunteer, the service they provided, and have the
supervisor sign and record their phone number.
Guidelines for hours 1. Ten hours of community service is required each nine weeks.
2. No more than four (4) hours of service can be directly related to any
family member.
3. Completed service hours are due to your Homeroom teacher on the last day of the quarter. A minimum of ten hours of community service is required for each quarter of school.
