Salgueiro is the former lead of the legen- dary Portuguese band Madre- deus which she formed toge- ther with guitarist and produ- cer Pedro Ayres Magalhaes in 1987. Salgueiro sang with Madredeus until 2007 and most fans associate the sound of the band with her mysterious and haunting voice. In her time with Madredeus, she recorded more than ten albums with them and performed all over the world. In 2006, even befo- re leaving Madredeus she embarked on a solo career with the release of her first solo CD, Obrigado. Since then, she has released five more albums, with O Mistério released last year. In August 2011, Teresa Saguei- ro withdrew to the mountain monastery Arrabida together with four musicians and in the mystical mountain landscape they recorded seventeen new original songs – which brought about O Mistério. The line-up for the show includes Teresa Salgueiro on vocals, Carisa Marcelino, Oscar Torres, André Santos and Rui Lobato.
