MY LECTURERS HAVE RECOMMENDED ME TO DO A MASTERS, HAVE SAID THIS WOULD BE A POSITIVE PATH CHOICE FOR ME. I AM ACTIVE WITH MY WORK, ALWAYS WILLING TO GO OUT, GO TO MUSEUMS AND EXHIBITIONS A LOT. LIKE TO TRAVEL FOR THE PRUPOSE OF MY WORK. RNGE OF INTERESTS AND STRENGTHS, BUT HAVE YET TO HAVE A TRULY DEFINITIVE SPECIALIZATION, WHICH IS WHAT I AM HOPING TO ISCOVER ON THE MASTERS COURSE. I HAVE ENJOYED MY TIME AT UCA AND WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE STUDY THERE. I ENJOY COLLABORATION. I FEEL THERE IS MORE VALUE LEFT IN EDUCATION FOR ME, THAT I STILL HAVE THINGS YET TO DISCOVER IN THE GRAPHIC DESIGN EDUCATION SIDE BEFORE GO-ING OUT INTO THE DESIGN FIELD. NEW TECHNIQUES, MINIMALISM, SEMIOTICS. ACADEMICALLY CAPABLE. I WILL PROCCEED TO ACHIEVE TO THE HIHEST OF STANDARDS, I FEEL MY WORK HAS GREATLY IMPROVED OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS, WHICH IS EVIDENT IN MY IMPROVING GRADES, RECIEVING AN A (FIRST) IN MY FINL MAJOR PROJECT, AND I AM EXPECTING A 2:1 OVERALL. CREATIVE AND POSITIVE ATMOSPHERE. THERE IS MORE ROOM FOR GOWTH AND DEFINITION. WHAT CAN I OFFER THE COURSE. I FEEL I AM A HARDWORKING AND FOCUSED STUDENT, WITH MY WORK BEING AN IMPORTANT PART OF MY IDENTITY, AND SOMETHING I ENJOY AS BOTH AN ACADEMIC AND LEISURE ACTIVITY. I LIKE TO CREATE IN MY SPARE TIME, WHETHER IT BE BOOK DESIGN, ILLUSTRATING, PHOTOGRAPHY OR FILM MAKING. I HAVE A VARIETY OF INTERESTS THAT I FEEL I CONTINUE TO EXCELL IN. I THINK I WIL BRING TO THE COURSE SOMEONE WHO IS CONTINUOSULY OPTIMISITIC AND DRIVEN TO EXCELL. LOOK-ING TO WORK WITH OTHERS, SHARE AND DISCOVER NEW IDEAS AND APPROACHES TO THE GRAPHIC DESIGN FIELD. I HAVE LEARNT A LOT STUD-YING AT UCA OVER THE LAST THREE YEARS.

: RUINS On one of the third year projects prior to the final major project we needed to select six different themes, produing work based on that theme for a week. On one of of my projects, I chose the theme ruins. Throughout the project on Ruins, I studied urban exploring, which is a phrase generally used to describe for seeking and photographing abandoned areas. For the project I had a taste of urban exploring myself, going to an abadandoned Mental Health Hospital, and a church in London that was bombed out in world war two.

I considered ceating a book shocasing my urban exploring photography, and providing information about the places I had visitied. I thought about creating the urban exploring book for my final major project, but later changed my mind, though this is still something I would later like to pursue.

I produced a few digital illustrations based on abandoned buildings and the concept of ruins. The image on the left was created using my ipad and a stylus, the two images on the right were created using photoshop and a wacom tablet.

I produced some digital sketches on the project theme ‘failure’, and considered the body language and physical representation of failure.

: STREET PHOTOGRAPHYOne of my projects in sexond year was a self inititated research proejct. I chose the theme ‘capturing a momen’t, due to my interest in photography. I reviwewed the authentiticty of the photograph, and it’s impact on memory. During the project I looked at street photography, in particular the work of Martin Parr. These are some of my own photographs I took on the project with the theme of street photography around covent garden.

For one of my second year projects, I needed to crreate a brand based on a randomly selected student. The stu-dent chosen for me was called Mei, and had an interest in Manga and Anime, and told me about her Chineese heritage, specififcally Chineese New Year. The student chosen for me also expressed an interest in photography. When I had the information regarding the students likes and interests, I produced brand images and logos based on these factors. The i dot on the Mei logo included a Manga styled eye, the dragon was inspired by her partic-ipation in Chineese New Year and heritage, the camera to express her interest in photography. I wanted quite a simple, sleek sort of brand, with using black and white, as the student didnt express that she as the student liked colour black the best.

This was for another part of a first year project which involved visulazing pages from a book. I focused on one of the lines from the book bbout day becoming night and vise versa. I prodcued a short gif. file animation, it was my first time ani-mating and found it to be a lengthy but enjoyable proccess. Animation available via a hyperlink in the image abover, or through the link here:
