1. SUMMARY
Linecutting and ground magnetic and Max-Min II EM surveying were carried out to
assess geologically and geophysically prospective ground near Foleyet, Ontario. The target
is volcanogenic massive sulphides.
Four EM conductors were mapped, one of which has coincident positive magnetic
response. Two conductors warrant additional work.
2. INTRODUCTION
Historically, logs of many diamond drill holes in the immediate area reported minor
amounts of chalcopyrite and sphalerite. Most interesting was hole F-82-6 by Hudbay Mining
Ltd. in 1982 (on present Norex claim 1172290). This hole cut 14.4m massive pyrite and 7.1m
stringer pyrrhotite with minor amounts of sphalerite (MNDM assessment file T-2430,
Timmins).
The purpose of the present surveys is to re-assess the conductor drilled by Hudbay
as well as other conductors nearby indicated on a recent government airborne survey map
(O.G.S., 1990).

Surveys were planned and this report written by Leslie A., Tihor, Senior Project
Geologist. The surveys were executed and interpreted by Dave MacLean, Geological
Technician. MacLean was assisted in the field by Claude Breton, Geological Technician.
All of these parties may be contacted through Noranda's Timmins office.
3. THE PROPERTY
At the time that this work was performed the Foleyet property consisted of 28 staked
mineral claims. Recorded owner is Noranda Exploration Company, Limited (Appendix A).
Geophysical surveying was done on all or parts of claims #1172281, 1172282, 1172283,
1172284,1172285,1172286,1172287,1172288,1172289,1172290,1172291,1172294,1175074,
1175075 (Figure 1).
The property is located 2 km SW of the village of Foleyet, Ontario. It is traversed
by highway 101.
4. LJNECUTTING
Three contiguous and partly overlapping grids were cut to provide optimal instrument
orientation relative to target stratigraphy. Grid A (Fl-91 A) has base line oriented east-west,
Grid B (F1-91B) has base line oriented azimuth 0450 and the base line for Grid C( F1-91C)
trends north-south.
4-
5. GEOPHYSICAL SURVEYS
5.1 Total Field Magnetics
20.6 km of magnetic readings were taken at 25m intervals along all base lines and
cross lines. In anomalous areas readings were taken at 12.5m intervals. The method of
establishing base stations along the base line and looping back to base stations was used to
establish and correct for diurnal drift. The instrument used was Geometrics G-816 proton
mag.
5.2 HLEM Electromagnetics
20.1 km of EM surveying was done along cross lines using an Apex Max Min II EM
unit with a 200m cable. Readings were taken at 25m intervals except in anomalous areas
where the interval was reduced to 12.5m. The survey was carried out at two frequencies,
444 Hz and 1777 Hz.
5.3 Results and Interpretation
Anomaly "A" - This conductor, on Grid A, appears on all lines from and including
L8+OOW to L3+OOW. The conductor has interpreted width of 25m on most lines, with
-5-
conductivity-thickness of 14S and estimated depth to top of conductor of 19.5m on L5+OOW.
There is no magnetic correlation with this conductor.
Anomaly "B" - Also on Grid A, this conductor shows on L10+OOW to L6+OOW. This
is a weak conductor with maximum width of 25m. Conductivity-thickness is 4S with
interpreted depth to top of conductor of 13.5m on L8+OOW. Anomaly "B" has no apparent
coincident magnetic anomaly.
Anomaly "C" - This anomaly appears from L13+OOW to L7+OOW and on L3+OOW
on Grid A. A weak extension of this anomaly is apparent on Grid B from L2+OOW to
5-f-OOW. The strongest response, on Grid A, has conductivity-thickness of 46S., width of 50m
and depth to top of 35m. Anomaly "C1 appears to swing southward at its western end and
coincide with Anomaly "C'" on Grid C. There is a weak positive magnetic correlation with
most of Anomaly "C1, increasing in strength at its west end.
Anomaly "C'" - This conductor shows a strong response on L3+OOS and L5+OOS on
Grid C. Strongest response is on L5+OOS, with conductivity-thickness of 144S., 50 m width
and depth to top of conductor of 17m. There is a strong positive magnetic correlation (600
gammas) with Anomaly "C'".
-6-
Anomaly "D" - This conductor lies on the western-most grid line, L16+OOW and
weakly on L15+OOW. There may be a weak positive magnetic correlation. Additional work
is recommended in order to property interpret this feature.
6. RECOMMENDATIONS
Two conductive anomalies warrant further work:
Conductor "D" - Additional lines of Mag and MaxMin II surveying are recommended
west of L16+OOW in order to better delineate the extent and nature of Conductor "D".
Conductor "C1 . "C " - Conductors "C1 and "C" appear to represent the same folded,
magnetic conductor. Hudbay's hole F-82-6 has confirmed that at least part of this conductor
is caused by massive sulphides. A gravity survey is recommended in order to locate the part
of this conductor most likely to represent the greatest thickness of massive sulphides.
Respectfully Submitted,
9Leslie A. Tihor Dave MacLean Senior Project Geologist GeologjcalTechnician
