    (United Cartels) were posted in select areas of

    Guadalajara [20.6667 -103.3333], Jalisco. These

    messages were directed to the Governor of Jalisco.

    Areas in which they were posted were listed as:

    Streets

    the SAT building

    bus stops along La Normal de Alcalde and Avila

    Camacho routes the San Agustin Bridge.

    Bodies of Three Men Taken From Vehicle after Being Shot in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon27 June

    2010

    On 27 June 2010 at 0030 hours, armed individuals aboard a

    pickup gunned down three men who were travelling in white

    Subaru Legacy (plates SDP-14-34). This incident occurred on

    Sierra de Lampazos Street [25.6273 -100.2776] in the Sierra

    Ventana neighborhood of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. After the

    initial confrontation, a separate group of gunmen arrived at the

    scene and recovered the bodies from the Subaru mentioned

    above. In order to prevent authorities from getting to close to

    the scene, these men threw a grenade to buy themselves time

    to escape. This grenade did not detonate.

    Local PAN Party Leader Murdered in Tlacotepec, Guerrero27 June 2010Pedro Brito Ocampo, 50, a local PAN party leader, was violently removed from his house and shot four

    times by a group of gunmen in the Tlacotepec municipality [17.7667 -99.9833], of Guerrero. His body

    was later found on a Main Street in the El Calvario neighborhood. The motive for this crime is under

    investigation.

    On 25 June 2010, Mexican soldiers conducting operations near the Lazaro Cardenas village in Ensenada

    [31.8667-116.6167], Baja California, arrested Adrian VAZQUEZ Becerra, 39. At the time of his arrest,

    VAZQUEZ was walking with an AK-47. After questioning, he confessed to belonging to a cell of hitmen

    for the Sinaloa Cartel. During these same operations, the following items were seized:

    Soldiers Seize More Than 5 Metric Tons of Marijuana near Reynosa, Tamaulipas24 June 2010

    On 23 June 2010, soldiers from the 8 th Military Zone conducting ground patrols located a grey Chevrolet

    pickup full of marijuana packages. This vehicle was parked in an area full of overgrown brush near

    Reynosa [26.0722 -98.2974], Tamaulipas. After discovering the truck, soldiers searched the surrounding

    areas and found a green wooden shack that was also filled with marijuana packages. In total, 562

    packages of marijuana with a total weight of 5,171.5 kilograms were seized from the shack and the

    vehicle.

    Soldiers Seize 4 Metric Tons of Marijuana in El Dorado, Sinaloa25 June 2010On 25 June 2010, Mexican soldiers assigned to the 24 th

    Mechanized Cavalry Regiment responded to anonymous tips

    regarding activity in El Dorado [25.5333-108.4667], Sinaloa. As

    a result of this, two residences were raided. Information regarding

    these residences was reported as follows:

    Residence one: Located on the outskirts of the El Dorado district

    on a plot of land measuring 374 square meters. Seized from the

    interior of the residence were:

    410 marijuana bricks wrapped with brown adhesive tape.

    The total weight of these bricks was reported as beingfour metric tons.

    Residence two: Located in Las Arboledas neighborhood of El Dorado. The residence itself was situated

    on a plot of land measuring 500 square meters. From this location, soldiers seized:

    20 kilograms of marijuana seed

    $(USD) 80,000.00 that was dispersed in four separate packages

    $(MXN) 37,700.00

    Decapitated Body with a Message Signed by La Resistencia Found in Tonala, Jalisco27 June 2010

    A decapitated body wrapped in a piece of carpet was found on a dirt road in La Calma neighborhood of

    Tonala [20.6167 -103.2333], Jalisco. The severed was left inside a plastic bag next to the body. Also left

    next to the body were a bucket with a saw and a message signed by La Resistencia. The message read as

    follows: What happened traitors, you should be ashamed, besides being traitors, you are followers, you

    should ask the government for a kilogram of eggs, sincerely, La Resistencia.

    Municipal Police Discover Body of Mutilated Female in Plastic Bag near Los Lirios, Nuevo Leon 27 June 2010

    On 27 June 2010 at 1500 hours, homicide detectives

    discovered the mutilated body of a 50-year-old female along

    an unimproved road off the 54 kilometer mark of the highway

    that leads to Monclova. This unimproved road leads to Los

    Lirios. It was reported that the remains had been placed

    within five separate black plastic garbage bags on both sides

    of the road. No further information was released regarding the

    discovery.

    Woman Wanted by U.S. Authorities Arrested in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua24 June 2010

    A female originally from El Paso, TX, and wanted by the DEA was arrested by federal police officers in

    Ciudad Juarez [30.3167 -108.0833], Chihuahua. The arrest occurred at a house located on Himno

    Nacional Street in the San Felipe del Real neighborhood. She was turned over to U.S. Marshalls on the

    Paso del Norte International Bridge.

    Federal Officers Arrest Individual for Possession of 1.5 Kilograms of Heroin in Navojoa, Sonora

    27 June 2010

    Federal police officers conducting routine inspections arrested David SANCHEZ

    Garcia, 20, for possession of 1.5 kilograms of heroin. The arrest took place at

    the 70th kilometer mark along the Mexico-Nogales highway in Navojoa

    [27.1000-109.4333], Sonora, after officers stopped Sanchez for a routine

    inspection. During this time, officers discovered three packages of heroin hidden

    inside the doors of the gray pickup with Sonora plates ZWH1982 that Sanchez

    was driving. The now arrested individual was coming from Guasave, Sinaloa,

    and was headed to Nogales, Sonora.

    Federal Police Dismantle Los Bon Ice Kidnapping Gang and Arrest Nine Individuals in Ciudad

    Juarez, Chihuahua26 June 2010

    Federal police officers dismantled Los Bon Ice kidnapping gang and in the process, arrested nine

    individuals and rescued one victim. This incident occurred after officers located a safe house used by the

    gang on Acapulco and Monte Mayor Streets in the Melchor Ocampo neighborhood of Ciudad Juarez

    [30.3167 -108.0833], Chihuahua. The now arrested Los Bon Ice members were identified as follows:

    Julio Cesar SANCHEZ Diaz, 18, aka El Bon Ice, identified as the leader of the gang

    Jessica Giulianna CASTILLO Hurtado, 19, in charge of taking care of victims

    David CASTANEDA Velazaquez, 18, El Cabe, in charge of kidnappings

    Daniel Enrique RODRIGUEZ Trevillo, 26, aka El Peter, in charge of kidnapping victims

    Maria Eduvina SOTO Fuentes, 42, in charge of taking care of victims Maria Luisa DIAZ Camacho, 36, in charge of taking care of victims

    Oscar Antonio CASTANEDA Arreola, 46, aka Oscarin, in charge of taking care of victims

    Corina (no last name), 17, in charge of charging ransoms

    Carlos (no last name) 15, in charge of taking care of victims

    Los Bon Ice gang selected their victims based on appearance and the vehicle they were driving. After

    kidnapping their victims, they would hold them in rental properties or motel rooms. The gang is linked to

    at least 14 kidnapping cases; the majority of these cases involved minors. Those items seized during this

    operation were reported as a red 1996 Buick Skilank without plates and a gray 1991 Ford Aerostar

    without plates.

    Federal Police Arrest Nine Members of the Beltran Leyva Cartel in Mexico State28 June 2010

    On 25 June 2010, federal police officers arrested nine members of the Beltran Leyva Cartel after a shortpursuit in the Cultura Romana II neighborhood of Tlalnepantla [19.5269 -99.2217], Mexico State. To

    distribute drugs, these men employed boys that would deliver orders on motorcycles in the Naucalpan and

    Tlalnepantla municipalities. They also carried out kidnappings and utilized a safe house in Tecamac as a

    holding area. Three of the now arrested individuals were identified as follows:

    Ismael ZUNIGA Valdivia, aka El May, responsible for storing and assigning weapons

    Alan FERNANDEZ Ramirez, aka El Alan, responsible for providing cell phones to members of

    the criminal cell

    Aurelio Jesus MORENO, aka El Chuy, responsible for supplying drugs to minors for distribution

    Those items seized from these men were reported as follows:

    6 vehicles

    1 motorcycle

    6 rifles

    3 submachine guns

    1 shotgun

    1 revolver

    1 bulletproof vest

    An undetermined amount of magazines and ammunition

    10 cell phones

    12 cell phone chips

    Airport25 June 2010

    Around 1400 hours on 25 June 2010, authorities arrested an individual for possession of $(USD)

    3,000,000 of undeclared cash at the Juan Santamaria International Airport [9.9939 -84.2088] in Costa

    Rica. The individual identified himself as the Consul of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (RDC) in

    Mexico and was reported as having the last name of EMERICK. He arrived to Costa Rica on a flight

    from Mexico.
