This year we are honored to host Jill Felber, professor of flute at the University of California at Santa Barbara and pianist Dianne Frazer. The flute day is filled with events in which flutists of all ages and levels may participate. All events are open to the public. On this Flute Day, flutist Jill Felber will present her very popular “Extreme Makeover” flute master class inspired by the teachings of incredible flutists: Sir James Galway, William Bennett, Geoffrey Gilbert, Judith Bentley, and Bradley Garner. The day of events will conclude with a thrilling recital performed by Jill and Dianne. Central Pennsylvania flutists, Naomi Seidman (Penn State), Tracey Schmidt-Jaynes, (Bloomsburg University), Jocelyn Goranson (Messiah College) and Cathy Herrera (Juniata College) will also present lectures and performances. Are you a young flute enthusiast? Be sure to register now for Agatha Wang’s youth flute choir!

Make checks payable to Penn State and be sure to include the participating flutist’s name on the check. Young Artist Performers Adjudication

Open to flutists 18 and younger

Young flutists are invited to perform a solo of their choice. Flutists who participate will be given written comments and a small participatory prize. All flutists are encouraged to embrace this opportunity for a juried performance. Be sure to register and be included.
