Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve Seats

Fluorotech manufactures Trunnion Mounted Ball Valves seats from 2 “to 20″ in various materials. Seats complete with or without O-rings, back up, graphite, soft seats are manufactured in accordance with the general principles of standardization and adaptation to the needs of customers. The material offered by Fluorotech are: A 105 , LF2 , SS 304 /316 , Duplex grades F51 & F55 , Monel , Inconel etc.with the soft seats in PEEK,PTFE,RPTFE,CFT,Devlon,Nylon etc.

PTFE and Filled PTFE

PTFE's mechanical properties are low compared to other plastics, but its properties remain at a useful level over a wide temperature range of -100°C to 180°C. Mechanical properties are often enhanced by adding fillers . It has excellent Chemical resistance, thermal and electrical insulation properties and a low coefficient of friction.

Filled PTFE

PTFE's mechanical properties can be enhanced by adding fillers such as PEEK,glass fibers, carbon, graphite, molybdenum disulphide, and bronze. Generally, filled PTFE's maintain their excellent chemical and high temperature characteristics, while fillers improve mechanical strength, stability, and wear resistance.

PEEK SEATS PEEK is an abbreviation for Polyether Ether-Ketone. It is an organic, polymer thermoplastic with many applications in a wide range of industries. PEEK contains features that make it a viable alternative to metals in some cases. PEEK has excellent chemical resistance, superior wear resistance, and low moisture absorption, plus it can be exposed to hot water or steam and remains unaffected.It's capabilities can be changed by filling the general purpose grade with substances such as PTFE,carbon fibers, fiberglass and combinations of carbon fibers, graphite and lubricants

Grades in PEEK

Unfilled •General grade PEEK is the toughest and most ductile of all grades.

Carbon filled 

•The addition of approximately 1/3 carbon fibers gives a grade of PEEK that is stiffer and has greater compressive strength. As such, it offers the best wear resistance and load carrying capability of any grade.

Glass filled

•Glass fibers gives a grade that is ideal for structural uses requiring strength and stability, especially when the temperature is more.

Bearing grade

•The addition of carbon fibers, graphite and PTFE (Teflon) lubricants creates PEEK suitable for bearing applications. It has the lowest coefficient of friction of any grade..

Fluoro3201

• Addition of 32% PEEK in PTFE.

• Extremely low coefficient of friction as compared to Unfilled PTFE and PEEK.

• Wear resistance of this composite is much lower than that of Unfilled PTFE and PEEK.

PCTFE Seats

Very broad temperature range of application which includes extremely low temperatures : from – 196°C to + 150°C in continuous use and up to + 200°C as peak temperature, • high mechanical Strength and in particulate very low creep under compression, • non-flammable, even in presence of high oxygen concentration • very high chemical inertness towards all inorganic chemicals and towards most organic chemicals, • excellent resistance to ultra-violet and X-ray radiation, • very good impermeability to liquids and gases even at low temperatures

UHMWPE

Polyethylenes have a higher impact strength, but lower working temperatures and tensile strengths than polypropylene. They are light in weight, resistant to staining, and have low moisture absorption rates.

Light weight (1/8 the weight of mild steel), high in tensile strength, and as simple to machine as wood, UHMW PE is the ideal material for many wear parts

UHMW PE is self-lubricating, shatter resistant, long-wearing, abrasion and corrosion resistant.
