INSTRUCTIONS
Decide if your nature walk will be in the forest or by the sea. It might be in your local park or even your
garden. You will find different things in each environment.
Why not make a map of the area you’re in? You can show any features such as rivers, bridges, or footpaths and
then you can show where you spotted the different plants, tree or even animals on your walk.
Make sure you draw or sketch the things that you find and label them if you know their names
Sometimes plants can be very tiny or you may want to draw just the detail of something you find. Use your
magnifying glass to see the smallest details.
Remember not to pick the flowers or plants. You may find leaves or flowers
lying around on your walk - why not collect them in your plastic bags,
take them home and draw them later?
In recording the flowers that you find, you might want to
measure how high they are. If you do your nature walk
in the same place during different seasons you can
also record how the plants have grown.
