Operation of Oval Gear Meters
The Oval Gear flow meter accurately measures liquid
flow by using a slight pressure differential to rotate a pair
of oval gears located within the measuring chamber.
These meshed gears seal the inlet from the outlet flow,developing a pressure differential. Each complete
rotation of the gears, or rotors, displaces a fixed amount
of liquid from the inlet to the outlet of the meter in a
continuous flow pattern.

The Mini Oval Gear Meter is a positivedisplacement meter with a pair of
precision molded oval-shaped gears for
flow elements.
The gears rotate on a stationary shafts
with close matching tolerances that
insure minimum slippage and high
accuracy.
A magnet or magnets are installed in one
or each of the elliptical gears. As eachmagnet passes the metal contacts of the
Reed Switch or Hall Effect Sensor it
completes the electrical circuit and
produces one pulse.

The Stealth Oval Gear Meter is apositive displacement meter with a pair of
precision molded oval-shaped gears for
flow elements.
The gears rotate, sweeping a known
volume of liquid through a close
tolerance measuring chamber. The rate
of flow through the meter is directly
proportional to the rotational speed of the
gears.
The output for Stealth meters can either
be mechanical or electronic. In the
mechanical meter the output shaft drives
mechanical ratio gears. In the electronic
version magnets mounted in the gears
actuate a switch which produces a pulse.

The Nutating Disc Meter is a positivedisplacement meter with a disc for a flow
element.
The disc nutates on a spherical half ball
displacing a known volume of fluid
through a close tolerance measuring
chamber. The rate of flow through the
meter is directly proportional to the
volume of fluid displaced by the nutating
disc.
The output can be either mechanical or
electronic. In the mechanical meter theoutput shaft drives mechanical ratio
gears. The meter can provide
mechanical pulse output for electronic
registration.
