Due to recent uncertainties in the Economic Climate and an ever increasing competitiveness across all Industries, such as the transportation and distribution of fluids around factories or into vehicles, many companies are choosing to install Flow Meters to ensure liquids are being distributed as quickly and efficiently as possible

They are important tools for ensuring that systems and processes can operate at optimum levels and any issues with flow can be quickly identified and rectified

Flow Meters can be used for both liquids and gases

Many Flow Meters come with common liquid or gas density measurements pre-programmed into the device. If those used in your application are not included, Flow Meter Manufacturers can often provide the data required

These are used for high-accuracy Flow Measurements

A rotor is implemented within the pipe and suspended in a way that allows it to turn freely. As liquid passes through the rotor, it generates an electrical signal with a short pulse being sent to match the passing of each rotor blade

A pick up assembly is mounted on the outside of the channel to receive these signals and convert them into a reading that displays the Flow Rate

The installation and maintenance of a Turbine Flow Meter can cause a disturbance to Industries

It is important to consider how much of an effect this disturbance would have to your individual Company before choosing this type of Flow Meter

A deliberate restriction is installed into the channel.

If a fluid flowing through a channel encounters an area with a reduction in size, the liquid is forced to flow faster to pass this restriction

This increase in velocity at the restricted point creates a different pressure. There is a certain relationship between the pressure difference in the two areas and the rate of flow

 In installing a restriction, this relationship can be established and the differential pressure Flow Meter can use it to calculate and display the flow rate of the fluid

This type of Flow Meter is different in that it can be non-invasive, clamping on to the side of a channel rather than requiring a part to be placed inside

It uses Doppler Frequency Theory to measure flow by sending a continuous ultrasonic wave through the channel

An electronic transducer within the device interprets the difference between the transmitted and received frequencies allowing it to measure the rate of flow

This device is commonly used as it is easy to install and maintain without any disruption to the running of a business. Portable versions can also be bought if readings need to be taken from a variety of locations

This is an adapted version of the normal Ultrasonic Flow Meter that emits a sonic pulse down an acoustic path, recording the time of its arrival at the other end

A pulse is also transmitted in the opposite direction with its arrival time recorded

The device will record the difference in travel time between the two pulses which should be proportional to double the flow rate
