Terminator® Commissioning ValvesMarflow Hydronics’ Terminator® is a range of manual balancing valves (also known as commissioning valves) which comprises of a standard flow and low-flow combination venturi and regulating ball valve as well as a standalone regulating ball valve with memory stop and position indicator for installation on by-pass duty.

The Terminator range includes:

• TCV 90 – Standard flow commissioning valve, size range 15mm (½”) to 50mm (2”)

• TCV94 – Low flow commissioning valve, available in 15mm (½”) size only

• FR59 – Filtermate® Regulator ball valve with memory stop and indicator

Terminator® Standard FlowThe Terminator® uses a regulating ball valve with an integrated venturi for flow measurement. This design combination ensures high accuracy of flow measurement and balancing across all valve settings.

Terminator® Low FlowThe low flow Terminator® offers high control and regulation when dealing with low design flow rates.

The Terminator Profile balancing valve has been designed to add resistance and so control the flow as soon as the handle is turned. The result is that the relationship between the closing of the valve and the resistance is virtually linear over the complete operation of the valve.

Also from Marflow Hydronics…TICVThe interchangeable valve is a single DZR brass body valve which includes venturi flow measurement, complete with test points. Connections are BSP female threads. Venturis are also easily interchangeable and available in a number of sizes from 3-12mm and the body is available in ½” and ¾”.

FMVThe flow measurement valve is a single DZR brass body valve combined with isolation, which includes venturi flow measurement, complete with test points. Connections are BSP female threads. Venturis are also easily interchangeable and available in a number of sizes from 3-12mm and the body is available in ½” and ¾”.

Filtermate® RegulatorThe Filtermate regulator is combined isolation and regulation to guarantee excellent balancing when manual control is required.

VenturisA venturi is a device for measuring flow either integrated into a commission set or used independently in a circuit or sub-circuit. An added benefit of using a venturi is that a significant proportion of the pressure loss is recovered after flow has passed through it.

Typically, venturis give a higher signal for a given flow rate and have much better pressure recovery than other measuring devices, such as orifice plates, especially at lower flow rates. High pressure and energy recovery makes the venturi suitable where only small pressure head is available.

Uniquely, the Terminator® TCV series is offered with a selection of venturis dependant upon the flow rates required. The standard flow TCV 90 range has an option of two venturis in each valve size from 1” to 2” (covering a multiple range of Kvs from 3.04 to 42) whilst the TCV 94 Low Flow valve has options for three venturis (covering Kvs from 0.36 to 1.38).
